ANYONE could end up with a severe injury in this sport. I see no greater risk for Ortiz than anyone else.

In fact I think Wilder's ability to one punch KO mfers makes him less likely to kill someone in the ring cuz most severe ring injuries take place after a beating not a one punch KO.

Granted the one punch KO looks scarier, but the reality comes down to its better to take one massive shot to the head than 7, 8, 9+ rounds of moderate strength head shots.

Ortiz is more than a warm body. He had Wilder in trouble until the bombsquad landed telling blows. Plus Ortiz has to know that this is his last hurrah. He will be highly motivated and could cause a surprise upset.

Unless he takes a beating like Stiverne In the first fight and Ortiz already got hit alot in the first fight.
And he is at a greater risk because of his age. Ortiz almost wasn't cleared to fight in the first fight because of his high blood pressure and all. He almost didn't pass the 'medically fit to fight' test they do. That tells me enough. And he is even older now

Would love to see Wilder put Whyte to sleep. But Whyte has turned too many fights down and I could care less if he is frozen out.

What was wrong with this one?

It's happening because enough people cried because they hate Wilder that it was "close" and he"got lucky" so now we have to sit through this poor old man getting sparked again.

I enjoyed the 1st fight and there are things that happened in it to make it a little bit controversial, the fact that Ortiz very nearly had Wilder finished and then there was that dodgy as hell extra recovery time they gave Wilder. But ive watched all of Ortiz fights since the Wilder loss and his performances in those fights do not fill me with confidence in him being able to do much in this fight now. I think the man is done.

But hes ranked and there are for sure worse guys they could of matched Wilder up with so its not the end of the world. But i do agree about Whyte should be getting his shot soon. Breazeale was a mando so we cant really be demanding his next fight be a mando but Wilders had only 2 in 5 years or something so if they start coming more regular that can only be a good thing.

Show me any evidence that being older enhances the chances of one being severely injured?

I think there is more evidence that suggests fighters trained by their fathers are more prone to get severely injured than old guys are.

What you mean is in order to have a conversation with you then I need to remember it has to revolve around your logic.
