Yea I agree say what you want about Wilder but he's good at keeping opponents at arm's length which is what AJ failed to do. He's much better on the back foot than AJ and will definitely tag Ruiz as his speed will be a problem. That coupled with his power....

Was Ruiz lucky?
To even get the fight in the first place? Obviously. Idk about how lucky he got in the fight. I think he did what he can do & it worked. Idk that it was a lucky shot or anything that won him the fight.
Did Joshua quit?
Nah. Joshua showed me he had heart by lasting as long as he did after never recovering from the 1st knockdown. I think he was just so out of it his mouth was saying "I'm ready" out of habit, but his body was saying "f#ck this bs" cuz it hadn't experienced this many times before.
Was it a bad stoppage?
You could argue it was a bad stoppage in that it wasn't stopped sooner more than it was a bad stoppage that it ended when it ended. I think the ref gave Joshua more time then he'd usually give someone to recover & as they often do when the wrong guy is getting knocked down. Boxing refs while more just than judges still seem to hold some bias with giving the money guy more chance to turn things around.
Was Joshua overrated?
Idk that you can be as popular as Joshua & not be overrated. When casuals know you like casuals know Joshua your bound to be overhyped by numerous fans. The myth of a undefeated boxer is always bigger than the boxer himself.
Does Joshua have a weak chin?
Its not great thats for sure. He's been dropped by Klitschko once & Ruiz 4 times. He's been hurt nicely by Whyte & I thought Povetkin dinged him up pretty good before Joshua took them both out. That said all those guys except Ruiz had a good rep for power so idk if his chin is THAT bad to say its weak. I mean its not like he's David Price or anything. Thats a weak chin. Joshua might have a subpar chin or an average chin.
Who wins the rematch?
Idk yet. Thinking about it today I have a hard time envisioning the standard rematch thing doesn't happen which is the guy who KO'd the other guy KO's him quicker the 2nd time. That said I feel like Ruiz can lose focus with this success he's gotten or Joshua could come in extra motivated or a whole slew of other things could alter my opinion so while I expect Ruiz wins today I think my opinion could change drastically in 5-6 months when the rematch happens based on the moves either of these guys make or don't make in the meantime.
How much can Ruiz accomplish?
It'll depend on how he does in the rematch I feel like. If he wins the sky's the limit, if he loses the ground is back in Ruiz's line of sight & things can go a bunch of ways from there.
How did Joshua handle the loss?
Joshua was a gracious loser, maybe too gracious. Sometimes I ponder if thats a good thing. I think hating to lose should be more standard although not to the point of being disrespectful. Then again everyone is different with that sh^t & we've not seen Joshua lose at this level before so how he reacts post-L is going to be more telling than how he handled the L immediately after the fight.
What about the rumors?
I call bs on all of them. No reason to believe any of them to be true.
Was it the biggest upset ever?
It wasn't even the biggest HW upset. Buster over Tyson wasn't even a betting line fight at most casinos, but the ones that had a line had it 42-1 or w/e. This was an 11-1 fight. Shocking upset, but nowhere close to the biggest ever.

Joshua has been knocked down or hurt by Klitscho, Whyte and now Ruiz maybe even Povetkin BUT guys like Wilder haven't fought these tough fights especially in their first 23 fights. For that AJ deserves respect for risking his 0 time and time again. I don't think AJ is the best necessarily but he has had the toughest fights so far at this stage of his career. We all prefer to see the fighters take risks in tough fights than gimme after gimme fights which is boring.

AJ definitely has a weak chin. He was able to make up for it with movement vs Povetkin and cheating vs Parker. If AJ moves and covers like he did vs Povetkin he beats Ruiz easy.

I think we'll see a much difference looking rematch. AJ will be cautious, and Ruiz may actually be the aggressor. If AJ uses his movement, ties up when he needs to and only engages when he needs to like the Parker fight then I fancy him to get back his belts.

He had the big steroided bodybuilder running backwards the whole fight. It was hilarious to see an athlete with so many obvious advantages getting bullied by a little fat kid
