My point is Ruiz was not a top guy until he beat AJ ... so AJ doesn’t get credit for fighting a top guy since he wasn’t that when they fought. Of course Ruiz should be elevated, but AJ doesn’t get credit for losing to some top-two or top-three guy because Ruiz wasn’t that when they fought.

Likewise, I agree. You can’t pump up AJ’s resume by saying he fought Ruiz without acknowledging that he lost to him. Losing to Ruiz does not enhance AJ’s record.

You can argue fury wasn’t top guy when he fought wilder also? Or certainly when he fought Klitschko (and was made #1 afterwards).

Ruiz was around top10 before but like anyone, win and you move up.

Once you come back to the real world, you will realize that amongst the top 3 only 2 have fought each other. They also hold a belt or title (even if self-proclaimed Lineal champion).

That beats any win or accumulation of wins of either Joshua or Wilder. the only competition to this is Andy Ruiz's win over Joshua.
