yeah all wilders "future plans were focused on joshua"...thats why hes got an ortiz fight and a fury fight basically ready to go after that....with fury being a dangerous one that could derail his own career

but i guess he was squarely focused on a joshua fight lol

I think Wilder and his fans are on a suicide watch right now, honestly.

Has Joshua's popularity taken a huge setback? Im not so sure that is the case at all and even if it turns out to be the case how has the Thread Starter got to these facts so soon? How is it measured? Or does a loss automatically mean a big down turn in popularity? Ive been a British Boxing fan for many years and from my experience that has never been the case. Im sure it is in the US cuz they have that "if you aint 1st you are last" mentality. But not over here.

I doubt his popularity has taken a hit; the publicity has been huge around this fight! Almost every post on here even a week later is about it!

These sort of fights are usually a huge benefit to the fighters and the sport in general. The wilder fury fight finishing a draw was exactly the same, just a shame in that case they didn’t take immediate rematch and exploit it.

It does. Ducking Josuha is worse than Joshua losing. Joshua fought and lost where as Wilder didnt want to fight.

Joshua is still a popular fighter but the perception of his skill level has taken a hit.

I bet this won't be the last time we see Joshua get clipped in a fight.

His opponents will be brimming with confidence from now on.

Needless to say a lot of his old opponents are probably praying for a rematch.

I could see Parker or Povetkin beating him if they ever fight again.
