All these 'fans' saying Joshua was never anything special, weak minded, jacked up on drugs etc etc etc.... Just keep talking. Reality IMO will set in when Joshua resurrects his career. As stated elsewhere, directed to the doom-and-gloom coalition of boxing fandom:
"...Lewis and Klitschko rebounded emphatically and went on to become all-time great heavyweight champions after their setbacks....:
This was ONE fight, where his opponent just happened to land the picture perfect punch. I'd be very surprised if this is the end of Joshua. Ruiz has proven himself to be a very dangerous opponent. So we'll see a more cautious, more prepared Joshua in the rematch.

Ruiz is a very good fighter that people (including Joshua most likely) underestimated. AJ has shown he can be dropped and hurt before despite all of his talents.
In today's day and age, everything is a hot take and over analyzed. People use whatever morsel of truth to push their own narrative when we know that life and reality are always alot more nuanced.
I suppose it's no surprise by now that reporters and media are not immune to biases or cheap storytelling. While you can certainly find quality content, astute dialogue, and objectivity in this boxing forum, it does not cease to be an outlet and home to subjective reasoning, profane scrutiny, and a jaded or immature understanding of the human condition.
I have to admit though, the Joshua/Ruiz outcome has added legitimate buzz to the HW division. Had that fight just been a one KD and a KO by Joshua, it may have been just, back to the regular old HW bickering. That was how it went after Wilder/Breazeale.
Ruiz adds a whole other dimension and dare I say, a little more class and humility to the pack (not that AJ isn't classy & humble in defeat). Whenever the apple cart is tipped over, it's always interesting or even entertaining to see how people go about reloading it or explaining how it happened.
Peace.

Hearn may have been watching the after-fight comments of Teddy Atlas. Teddy said the same thing. He pointed out how much damage a shot behind the ear can do. It's about equilibrium. AJ fired a KO punch that didn't quite do it. Ruiz got up, they traded, Ruiz had the faster hands, and landed that shot. And several more in that general area once he saw how Joshua was reacting. Same deal if you land a liver punch, the fighter goes down, so you keep trying to hit that sweet spot again.

The simple fact is, Ruiz can take AJ's shots better than AJ can take Ruiz.
Once AJ realized that in the ring, it was over as Ruiz has never been scared of taking a big shot to dish out 2.
Short of some dodgy reffing to keep Ruiz at distance by breaking the fight up when he gets inside, ala AJ's Parker fight, the is no way AJ can keep Ruiz off him.

For once I agree with Hearn. Joshua didn't know much about things from r.3 and the stoppage was spot on , not early. Had Ruiz been allowed to continue his onslaught I could only see a vicious KO of Joshua where he could have been really hurt.
Joshua dealt with this defeat with dignity , respect and honesty but there is a high chance Ruiz will do the same in the rematch.Joshua's best asset ,his offence is taken away to a degree by Ruiz.Joshua is always going to be worried about what's coming back with Ruiz's faster hands and knack of getting Joshua to fight off the back foot. I think the rematch is a mistake but where is the route back to the top. All the heavies have seen the blue print and a few might now be able to carry it out.
