You STILL trying to defend pvssy G?!?!I wonder at what point you guys will get tired of reaching your back pocket for that "He was scared to face Andre Ward card" like isn't your arm tired already? That fight was never going to happen and it wasn't Golovkin's doing nor the network....Andre couldn't make the weight, wouldn't have been able to make the weight and is on tape saying he struggled to get down to 172...
Give it up dude, that dude plays himself out more & more as the days go.Comment

Stop protecting Punk G. He needs to see Jermall Charlo.why can’t they do a third fight though? People are acting as if what Golovkin is saying about wanting a third fight is blasphemous. The last time I checked he was a MW champ for around 20 defenses and has every right to a rematch just as most champions get a chance to rematch once they lose. Long reigning champs like Hopkins got to, so why not G?Comment

Stop it. Nelo beat that boy twice & Jacobs beat Punk G too.Comment

That would be nice!I agree, a 3rd fight is deserving but come on. He should fight someone worthy 1st. Especially since he's always claimed people have ducked him. He was high risk low reward now he is doing the same. Fight Andrade or Charlo instead of Rolls and hed be right there.
He doesn't want to risk a loss, which is sad. I wouldnt mind seeing it but I'd prefer Nelo vs Andrade with GGG vs Charlo on the undercard. Or vice versa. Either way that'll be 2 great fights with winners facing off.Comment

Jacobs signed with Hearn in 2017 so he was in the DAZN fold before Canelo. He re-upped with Hearn after Canelo signed with DAZN, with an eye to a Canelo fight no doubt. As for the DAZN veto over Canelo fights, I suspect that might be true, but that is not the same as the power to compel Canelo to fight a specific fighter. That for sure is not in the contract.I believe Jacobs signed with DAZN after Canelo, but from what I heard he was guaranteed to be next up for Canelo when he signed. Idk how they pushed that to Canelo, but it seems like they did.
Idk if GGG got a similar assurance from DAZN to get next, but it wouldn't surprise me.
One of the higher up DAZN guys has already said DAZN has the ability to veto Canelo opponents. And anyone who doesn't think DAZN wants to make Canelo vs GGG III next is nuts. Canelo vs GGG III is a casual fan drawing fight. Canelo vs Callum f#cking Smith or Demetrious Andrade isn't a blip on the casual fans radar. And if DAZN doesn't draw in fans then Canelo might not get all that $365M & if he does draw in fans his next DAZN deal might be for $1B.
DAZN and the media want a 3rd GGG fight, but the reality is that boxing is a niche sport in this country. Apart from rare boxing events, boxing is little noticed by the average joe. A third Canelo vs. GGG fight is not one of those "Thrilla in Manilla" moments. Boxing is big internationally, specifically in the UK, Mexico, and Latin America, and that is the future of boxing. So how Canelo, GB, and DAZN view those markets will play a role in this drama.Comment

Eddie Hearn himself denied the rumor report that GGG was getting equity in DAZN as part of his deal lolGGG has a deal with DAZN that allows him to put on his own shows & he's able to invest into DAZN to get back end money at some future date potentially.
Canelo is getting $365M for 11 fights.
Canelo is likely going to make more money in the short term, & maybe even the long term idk, no argument from me about that, but GGG has more of a partnership with DAZN then Canelo does.
We heard Eddie Hearn on IFL:

GGG is not getting any equity from DAZN
GGG also is guaranteed less money per fight then Canelo. I believe it was reported that he making 10M to fight Rolls and then over 20M IF and only if he fights canelo that's why he begging for the fight because all his money isn't guaranteed and he needs to fight Canelo or he doesn't get paid. DAZN hasn't confirmed how much he will make in his contract because money isn't guaranteed and many reported that 6 fights isn't guaranteed hell during GGG own press conference announcing the signing he was asked if he will complete all 6 fights and he himself I don't know. His entire contract is based around canelo lol
Meanwhile they signed before GGG was there and with no guarantee GGG was ever going to sign with DAZN. He guaranteed 365M which even DAZN confirmed the amount of his contract a min of over 30M every fight regardless who the opponent is. Make no mistake canelo is making out more then GGG short and long term. DAZN gave GGG 2 cards a year for 2 years for his promotion starting next year. That ain't shyt those or low budget cards. DAZN invested in 5 years of a minimum 10 cards a year for Golden boy primotions and a separate deal on top of that just for Canelo giving him 2 additional cards a year for Canelo for 5 years. More money and budget per show then GGG getting and his little low budget 4 shows he will get.
Saying GGG is a partner and my partner is your boss is beyond delusional. Canelo and Golden boy both making more money then this idiot GGG and nothing in their deal they signed say they have to fight GGG. This is like the dude who sweeps the floor at MSG saying I'm a partner at MSG and I have say who MSG partners with for events. lolLast edited by bigdunny1; 06-07-2019, 02:56 PM.Comment
