If he was serious he would have fought him. Just because Ruiz beat him doesn't mean ward can. AJ would slaughter Ward in my opinion. Ward has no power to threaten him and ward could not take his power. Ward would be quickly koed.
Was Andre Ward serious then about fighting Joshua at HW?

There's no point in Drizzy coming out of retirement for an exposed hype-job. Andy Ruiz has devalued Joshua.
Joshua's power is the only thing you can think of that is a problem for Dre. GUESS WHAT?! Anthony's KO ratio is also OVERRATED! S.O.G stops Joshua on his stool.Comment

The holes in Joshua's game have been clear for a while; he doesn't move his head off the line consistent enough, his sheer musculature consistently cause that energy dump while his conditioning looks to get him that second win (depending on the pace rounds 4-7 will always be trouble for him until he drops about a stone), and his chin isn't a granite one (though he's got an alright heart).
Ward being maybe 6', maybe 210lb will have his own issues dealing with a man the size of Joshua, but there's space to work with there.
I wouldn't have gone with it, but I'm not the one taking the riskComment

No, he ducked out on the light-heavyweight division because of all the killers thereComment

Not only do I believe that Ward was serious and could have beaten him. I believe Ward would have ended the fight by KO or TKO (although, not necessarily as quickly as Ruiz). Ward is a master of the punch that you don't see coming, and those hurt.Comment
