Maybe the original advice was good advice but the corner did a poor job working with what they had in front of them late in the fight. Joshua took a beating in the 6th, he basically needed to survive the 7th, not be busier or attempt to throw an uppercut inside. Jab, move, hold, regroup. Joshua was getting the benefit of very favorable scoring as expected, survive and he likely wins.
