My point is All we know for sure about Ruiz being a draw toward the mexican audience is Ruiz never was a draw to the Mexican audience which caused TR to drop him and there wasn't a large contingent of Mexican fans at MSG. To my knowledge he has never fought in the main event of any card other than the DAZN card, which we don't know how many people watched in the US yet.

He may be getting a lot of attention in the media but as we’ve seen with Wilder, all those YouTube views, memes and viral videos don’t necessarily translate into increased viewership WHICH IS WHERE THE MONEY IS and thus determines who is the A side.

He wasn't a draw. You can't say he was. I doubt you even knew who he was before this. Many people didn't.

Pretty much this. He has a good chance because he is Mexican, Wilder doesn’t really sell well to be honest. So it’s not like Ruiz has a hard act to overcome. If Ruiz wants to play the ego game then he really does have a claim to be the A-side.

But like you said he has a few fights to show he can be. He sure is on that way doe with the Joshua win.
