Why did Tyson Fury duck David Price?

I remember both were the biggest British ABA prospects going into the 2008 Olympics but Price defeated Fury and took the spot. Fury turned pro after that.

After 2008, both were the two biggest British heavyweight prospects with Chisora on the fringes and David Haye moving up from the cruiserweight. Fury vs Price was the Dubois vs Gorman dream matchup back then, just as Josh vs Whyte was. But somehow, Fury managed to duck Price and never took the fight.

Subsequently, Price met his nemesis in Thompson and that was the end of his chapter and he became a plumber riding around with a plunger. And Fury went on to shock the world.

Can anyone help me with why Fury never took the fight?

Didn't want the risk, claimed otherwise to save face. Honestly I don't blame him, avoiding someone is ok IMO if you're a prospect

Lmao. He knew he would get spurned and sparked out pretty bad.

McDermott who came to the ring looking like he just downed 5 pints of beer at the local pub with beer gut almost killed him. Pricey would knocked his head off his neck, lol.

Before Tony Thompson came along, Price looked a beast. Simples.

Fury ducked Price because he was scared that Price will beat him again like in amateurs.

Price is a decent boxer with great power, his chin is one of the worst in HW history though. Fury hasn't got much power. Price was a very dangerous fight for Fury. Fury did what he always does, talks **** and ran. Like he did for the Wlad and Wilder rematches,

Lmao. And that’s the same fat kangaroo who claims he’ll fight anyone in their backyard twice a day and everyday of the week, lol.

He didn’t want no smoke with pricey, lol.

I think Fury is the original big stiff idiot.

He was still green as hell, uppercutting himself in the face and all that, and as far as anyone knew Price looked like Deontay Wilder before Deontay Wilder was Deontay Wilder.

                    Great post.

His fan boys act like Fury is some warrior that will fight anyone anywhere when he has always been an opportunist with a big mouth.

He’s just a duck like Wilder and I doubt he can beat any heavyweight with decent boxing skills and power. Wilder is a one-trick pony and if Fury could punch hard, he would’ve sparked him out within 5 rds.
