Joe Calzaghe fought 43 of his first 44 fights in UK. That is his home turf so stop trying to BS me and the rest of the board. Joe fought at home against mostly nobodies and he did so for virtually his entire career.he beat up roy jones and bernard hopkins all around the ring
like they were nothing but journeymen.
jeff lacy was supposed to be the next mike tyson and he was literally beaten to within an inch of his life.... 😝😝😝😝😝
and are you actually pretending beating up chris eubank i the
90's isnt a big win? 😂😂😂😂😂😂
thats like beating a guy like clenelo now.....
and kessler stole frochs soul.
calzaghe beat a prime kessler.
coWard fought a shell of kessler and couldnt win without headbutting and clinching... 😃
and what does him fighting in the uk have to do with ABSOLUTLEY anything?
which is also a lie
dude fought in germany, denmark and america
you are also probably to much of a spastic to realise uk isnt just one thing.
calzaghe is welsh. so a lot of the time he wasnt ACTUALLY fighting on home turf....
He BARELY beat (by split decision) Hopkins when he was 43 years old. Not a prime Hopkins but a Hopkins who was beaten by Jermain Taylor twice and would draw against Jean Pascal a couple of years later. His match against RJJ was even more embarrassing since Roy had been KO'd by both Tarver and Johnson. He couldn't even knock Roy out, something that Danny Green would do the following year. Neither is a victory that is particularly noteworthy given both opponents age. They're names but they're largely empty names. With Hopkins you can make an argument that he was still very good (though well past his prime and not elite). RJJ was DONE long before then.
You must have some great promoters in the UK if you thought Lacy was the next Mike Tyson. That's truly hilarious. He couldn't even beat an OLD RJJ. J
Chris Eubank is like Canelo? What are you smoking? He had already been beaten by Steve Collins - TWICE - and would go on to lose (twice) against Carl Thompson. He's another example of an empty name - kind of pattern with Calzaghe. In fact, Eubank was 2-4 the last 6 of his career and that's when Joe "fight the trash cans" Calzaghe decided to give Eubank his shot.
His best win was Kessler, no doubt. But then again who did Kessler ever beat? There's another record of mostly no-names and while Calzaghe won that fight fairly convincingly, Andre Ward truly busted Kessler up.
Elite? Not even close. Just a bunch of no-names, has-beens and cab drivers on his record.Comment

yanks dont got the balls to roll like dat tbh... 😃
please remind me why he even needed to leave the uk?
maybe if more of the nobody yank champions fought in europe they wouldn't be so poor and would have more popularity?
and what does chris eubank having losses have to do with anything? 😂😂😂
if he came out retirement today he would sell out wembly stadium bro...
ward fought a shot kessler.
and by "busted him up" i assume you mean headbutted him.
roy jones and bhopper are biiger names than anyone coWard beat 😂😂

If retiring undefeated makes one an all-time great then I say yes; Why not? Of course, he's an all-time great. Money May retired undefeated as well and he is considered an all-time great too.
Likewise, he was a very entertaining fighter as well. He averaged throwing about a hundred punches per round. Plus he was a southpaw, who can throw punches from different angles and he had a very nice resume also.Comment

RJJ was a journeyman when they fought lol & he arguably lost to B Hop, look at what Sergey & Smith did to him.he beat up roy jones and bernard hopkins all around the ring

Jeff Lacy? The guy that nearly lost to Sheika?
A shot Eubank who took the fight on a week's notice whilst dropping 20lbs to make weight?
Kessler-Froch were neck & neck, Ward dominated both of them, Kessler when he was still green & Froch with a broken hand. Kessler wasn't a shell of himself either lmao, he was a favorite to win the S6.
Incredibly poor resume.Comment
