Comments Thread For: Andy Ruiz vs. Anthony Joshua: Afterthoughts

No one really knows until the bell sounds. Perceived heavy favorites usually win the fights they are expected to. It doesn't always happen, but it happens frequently enough we are always left with room for the pleasant surprise. Saturday night, Andy Ruiz came off the deck in round three, moved his hands at close quarters, and changed the arc of two careers.

Would actually prefer him to have the rematch in the states to banish demons.

And to stay out them damn Miami clubs. He was partying out there with a friend of my brothers but telling media he’s just been training.

Ruiz will have a lot against him fighting in the UK. Just like here in the states judges tend to weigh heavily on the anointed fighter in this case Joshua. In either case I hope Ruiz makes a boatload of money in the rematch. Anyone know what he got paid for this fight?

Cliff Rold:"Joshua doesn’t have Emanuel Steward to help the rebuilding process."

... that's what I previously said, here, on several threads... (not a huge brainer!...)

          £5 million apparently.
It’s also great to see a fighter, who was vilified by the media, get his just rewards.

Really? Damn, he looked like he barely wabted to be there. My guess is he underestimated my boy, but my boy aint nothing to mess with. I cant believe a World Champ could take any challenger lightly and party when he has a huge fight coming up.

This speaks volumes about these promoters greed. Delaying the "big fights" forever in hopes to make MW x Paquiao money.
One of your golden goose just fell to a nobody. All the money, flashy instagram posts, sponsors? Gone.

Anyone trying to paint this as a somewhat golden era of the HW division is delusional. These are all extremely flawed fighters. All of them were on the brink of getting defeated on their last fights. No one is special here. There's no great talent here.

Make the big fights NOW or we won't have anything left in the next couple years.

Yep, my bros friend is one of those 'keeping up appearances' type of guys. Whenever theres celebs etc he's not too far from there. AJ was on his snapchats, insta videos partying in Miami. Strange to do, especially seeing what happened to Haye after doing the same thing with Bellew.

If Joshua switches trainers, which I highly suggest he does (Breadman, Atlas?) then I wouldn't advise the immediate rematch! I would rebuild! Fight the winner of Trevor Bryan vs. Charr, or Whyte vs. Rivas, maybe Joe Joyce, or Michael Hunter? If he stays with his team, and he thinks June 1st was a fluke, then go to Ruiz immediately!

he looked or perhaps was tired too early, I think if he trains specifically for Ruiz this time around instead of a short notice fight...he'll get the job done no doubt
