This guy has had mental issues in the past. He's not boxed for a year for no good reason. He's fought as high as 290lbs & he was damn near 270lbs last night. This is not a good guy to pin your hopes on long term.

It'd be a cool story if I was wrong & he did become some long reigning HW champion & beat Wilder & Fury in the coming years, but I just can't rationally see that happening with this cat. This fight I feel like is gonna be the Buster KOing Tyson moment of his career & its all downhill from here outside of some sexy looking checks here & there & being more known then if he'd not beaten Joshua for the rest of his days.
His year lay-off was more top rank than anything. They didn’t want to do anything with him after the Parker loss, and then he was trying to get out of the contract.

Once he signed with PBC he said he wanted to start getting 3-4 fights a year, and he just had two fights in 7 weeks and now is the heavyweight champion

Jesus this is some hollywood ****

Theyve got such a significant length advantage this shouldnt have happened with someone as skilled as Joshua who has admittedly been veeeery inconsistent vs shorter men.

But who knows. He’s a new wildcard at this point til he loses it all. Good for him. Imagine him beating AJ again and then wilder then we see him vs fury in the least aesthetic bout between two men of all time
It's not that easy like "throw the jab".

Andy has fast hands and landed great counter punches in strange angles.

Andy will be a a hard night to any fighter of the division

Are you sure? He had TR fights after Parker & after the year layoff. Then he was out for damn near another year before he popped up with PBC. Idk why TR wouldn't know what to do with a guy who lost. Guys lose all the time. You get them back in the ring or cut them loose.

I recall hearing Bob say dude had confidence/mental issues or some such sh^t & I think I heard Ruiz on a podcast co-signing it. But not gonna act like I'm his biggest fan or was super paying attention so maybe I'm off with some of this idk.

I think 5 plus if he avoids fury. I'm confident AJ and Wilder get sparked by Ruiz. Usyk would be a dangerous match up too.

Ruiz didnt win by fluke. He's a legit champion. Fast and a solid all rounder.

Bob was also criticizing Joshua/Ruiz saying that there’s no marketability behind a fighter with a loss who jiggles when he walks. I don’t hate Arum, but I don’t trust him. I know he’s the original snake. Ruiz got a couple “comeback trail fights” but nothing after that. I had actually thought TR was getting out of the HW game until they signed Fury. After Ruiz left I don’t think they had anyone left?

Idk that he's wrong there. Ruiz won, but idk if he's gonna be the Joshua of the US now or something. He could become a novelty famous guy I suppose. Become some sorta Foreman comeback type famous novelty boxer. But as a serious boxer he's not gonna be taken seriously by most being as fat as he is.

Well yea I don't trust Arum either, but I believe Ruiz even mentioned this on a podcast himself. I know I got him pegged as a emo guy in my head for some f#cking reason lol. I never thought this guy would be on the map at the top of the division for me to have to recall why I got him pegged as the emo fat guy doe.

And I think they've had Jennings for a minute haven't they? Granted that didn't pan out either, but I don't think they've sat Jennings like Ruiz was out for over a year.

I was trying to find info about what was going on with Ruiz during his time off to confirm or deny what I recall with him being emo & the only thing I could find was on his wiki page where he said he took a year off to build houses & play with his investments & sh^t like that.

Forgot about Jennings lol. Though he sat for a year and a half after the Ortiz fight. And even still, easier for someone who looks like Jennings to get a following than some short Mexican BOXER with a 35% body fat and the reach of a LHW

Who knows? I had no idea he was building houses lol.

Yea. Its was linked to a BS article.

Ruiz is finally scheduled to see action, by making his return to the ring on March 10th at the StubHub Center in Carson, California as part of the Oscar Valdez-Scott Quigg undercard.

So why the protracted absence from the ring?

"I just wanted to take a break. I already have 30 fights," explained Ruiz, who has record of 29-1 (19 KO's), to BoxingScene.com.

"I wanted to be with the family, I started investing my money. I started building houses. But every boxers needs that little break and now I've got to come back harder."

For the bout with Parker, Ruiz trained in the mountains of Big Bear at the Summit Gym with Abel Sanchez, who is best known for his work with Gennady Golovkin and Murat Gassiev. Now, the once-beaten heavyweight is at Legendz Gym in Norwalk, California and working with trainer Emanuel Robles and his crew.

The break from boxing and the change of scenery has rejuvenated Ruiz mentally and he's very motivated to get back in the mix.

He says he has a, ''recharged battery," adding, "you've got to get that hunger back in you and that line to come out."
Since losing a razor thin majority decision to Joseph Parker for the vacant WBO heavyweight title on December 10th, 2016, Andy Ruiz has sat idle. He gave Parker one of his toughest outings to date, and it created some very tense moments for the Parker fans at the Spark Arena in Auckland. Parker won the smallest of margins, with scores of 115-113, 115-113 and 114-114.

Joshua’s jab was trash and was keeping his hand down the whole time like’s he’s got Canelo reflexes or something. Ruiz has great speed but a stiff jab from a much larger man should be minimizing his opportunities to even use it. Fury will pot shot him all day and clinch as soon as hes remotely close.

Wilder you never know with that guy. He has a decent jab and you get past it at your own peril.

He’s not going to be an easy out, I agree, but I wouldnt be betting on him either. Id love to be proven wrong though.

He just might be so different than the current top guys that they find his particular skillset and fast hands to be hard to deal with from his height and weight and maybe many of us dont have the foresight to see it giving positive results as we’re used to these giants. Look forward to seeing him try.
