He definitely needs a change. As a boxer, you just have to be able to use height/reach advantage. If he had fought behind his jab and took his time, he would’ve won the fight. His left hook dropped Ruiz and he didn’t even land his right at all.

When he dropped Ruiz, he should’ve be patient. You saw what Callum Smith did when dropped NDAm, he took his time.
      He didn’t hurt Ruiz
I think that got him more stunned than anything else
And please , don’t be talking about Smith fighting N’Dam
Ffs , that fight should of never been sanctioned
Oh yeah , Smith ain’t chit
Let’s see him against a ****er his own size , then come talk to me about fughin Smith

He might need to go back to 235-240, tidy up his defence and learn how to use his reach and height against short fighters. Short fighters have given him problems throughout his career and he should have been patient tonight to find his range like he always does against short guys but he lunge in trying to outdo what Wilder did. And it ****ed him up.
Save the excuses. When it gets tough he ****s himself.

I know it didn’t hurt. But Josh thought it hurt him, hence he rushed in.

Rushing in killed him and I don’t even think he saw the shot that hit him in the temple because he was asking his coach in the 5th rd what shot dropped him.

It’s one thing to be told to do it in between rounds, it’s another thing to prepare in the gym for these moments.

He needs about 30lbs less muscle.

Don’t make excuses. You just pointed out that it’s a basic instruction, I’ll do you one better. It’s day ****ing one.

So why couldn’t Joshua work his jab? Are you honestly saying that his trainers have never taught him to use a jab? To work from the outside? To use his size and reach to his advantage?

Olympic pedigree, heavyweight champion of the world, never learned how to jab.

                    This exactly.

AJ is a front-runner and no trainer can fix that.

But yeah watching that Mc Crackin dude work the mitts with AJ is cringeworthy to say the least.

I thought maybe he wanted to look impressive, and ended up getting caught instead of just going in there with the mindset to win by any means, even if it was an ugly win.

No reason a guy like him shouldn't be on his bike throwing that jab from every angle. I really wasn't impressed with his boxing IQ this fight. With the stories about him hiring a Sports Psychologist to talk to, it really seems like that pressure to perform was getting to him.
