Someone like Virgil Hunter comes to mind.
Virgil Hunter has never improved any boxer ever.

Yes, him. I think he’ll help him a great deal.

Wlad also used to get beat up by no-hopers until he linked up with Emanuel Steward.

Just for not having a B plan , that would be reason to get another trainer

I think your talking about Sugar Hill, he’s Emmanuel Stewart’s nephew

After the third round Joshua’s boxer told him a few times to go to the jab, stay on the outside, box him and hold if he needed to.

They also yelled “listen to me!!” A number of times as Joshua kept looking around.

Not sure how that’s on the trainer

I think they ( his team ) was caught by surprise and had no plan B
Maybe Joshua wasn’t answering to their demands
That in itself would tell me he needs a new trainer

He’s still a baby in the heavyweight division. Just because he achieved so much very fast, that doesn’t mean he isn’t relatively a baby in terms of fight experience. He’s just 23 fights in and the average heavyweight with 23 fights is still fighting tomato cans trying to gain experience.

He might need to go back to 235-240, tidy up his defence and learn how to use his reach and height against short fighters. Short fighters have given him problems throughout his career and he should have been patient tonight to find his range like he always does against short guys but he lunge in trying to outdo what Wilder did. And it ****ed him up.

Rob McCracken is a good trainer, but maybe AJ needs a change, he's been coached by Rob his entire career amateur and pro.

This might sound crazy but maybe someone like Peter Fury. Coach him the gypsy way, running up hills carrying logs and training in fields.

He was all over the place even before the fight started. And he never established his jab properly.

When he dropped Ruiz, he should’ve be patient. You saw what Callum Smith did when dropped NDAm, he took his time.

I agree, basic suggestion. Especially when your fighter has a huge height and reach advantage.

So why didn’t AJ do it?
