Can Ruiz Become A Bigger Mexican Star Than Canelo?

Surely he's an overnight sensation in Mexico now. If he wins the rematch does he become bigger than Canelo?

I dont think so. Canelo has been fighting for years at the highest level while Ruiz probably wont have the titles for long. AJ will box safely at range in the rematch in an absolute snoozer.

The Mexicans don’t claim him at least until he won the fight things may have changed.

Depends if Ruiz can get Doc Brown to let him use the DeLorean so he can tell his mother to give birth to him in Mexico. He’s from Cali. This is about as bad as the Golden Girl or worse Danny Garcia saying he is “philly rican” just embrace where you are from not some mythical heritage. FYI. USA is the best so it doesn’t really matter

Ruiz is a fat slob who looks like your typical Mexican. Nothing special unlike the whiteboy looking Canelo.

if there was justice in the world, Ruiz would be a bigger Mexican Hero than Canelo. Not only did Ruiz make history in becoming the HW champion, but he did it spectacularly and convincingly. Canelo won his titles with a questionable decision. Ruiz also looks like your average Mexican, ginger looks like an Irishman lol

What is the ''big'' deal about being the 1st one of a nationality to do something ?!?!?!

It's probably the lamest form of compliment I can think of.

Well he is literaly 'bigger', but in terms of numbers nah, he needs some of that ginger privilege to reach them numbers.

What a legend already though, perpetuating mexican stereotypes - the stereotype of never counting them out because they come to fight. Never underestimate a mexican, proved yet again

Unfortunately he wouldn’t, people would still go by his looks. It’s sad really because he is a good fighter. He should really be undefeated as well.
