A drug testing anomaly forced Willie Monroe Jr. out of an interim title fight last December and from the ring the for more than nine months as a result. Saturday's fight with Hugo Centeno didn't create any demand for the second-generation boxer to return to the ring any sooner. I always liked Willie and think he can box...feel bad in a way that the two times he stepped up he was against a prime GGG and then a BJS who was in the best shape (questionable....) of his life.

Was hoping he would stop Centeno and make a little statement here but Willie has trouble stopping anyone so no surprise there I guess.

I didn't either...it's crazy to me that some of these fights happen and I don't even see one ad for it in the lead up anywhere I looked. I actually would have liked to have checked that one out.

Wish this site would drop a few articles in the lead up to these types of fights as reminders...if they do I miss most of those articles...

I love boxing and enjoy watching.figjts of all levels but man I'm not sure if I could watch this if nothing else was on. Willie isn't a bad fighter but the only entertaining fight I've seen him in was GGG when he had to fight. Otherwise he is more willing to waltz in the ring, throw a few punches and do just enough to win or lose by decision.

Centeno is a little more interesting but not by much and not as skilled. The combination of the two is guaranteed to be a snoozer.
