good post -even a pac fan can see that this match up is not heavily favored for either fighter as do i being a diaz fan

    both have advantages and disadvantages

pac can move and has pop, he won't phone booth fight like suico, sim, or cotto. he's also got fast hands

but so does diaz, and alot of stamina. diaz's defensive skills are underestimated by some. but your right he gets hit on the gloves alot

    i hope this fight happens.

although i'll pull for diaz, there is no clear favorite. it will be a war and i will be cool with whoever wins

This is not about Morales anymore...forget that ****.

This is about the 135 division and whether or not Pac can hang. Freitas ? dude Freitas is a solid 135 pound fighter who could easily make 140. He's bigger , thicker , stronger with a big punch.
Yeah Freitas is thicker, stronger, bigger and could easily make 140 but that doesn't give anybody an instant conclussion that Pac is going to lose, that is if you are being objective Knowing Pacquiao's fighting heart a fight with Diaz or Freitas is realistically a 50/50 fight.

The correct statement is Freitas "might be too much" or "could be too much" and it's quite different when you say "would be too much" Don't be too sure of your opinion because that is what's pissing too many people here.

The MODS were forced to close the other thread because they have noticed that it's all BULL****, you insistently arguing that Morales was not hurt despite being rushed to the hoispital with all sorts of injuries after the fight now you're here again trying to pull down Pacquaio.

Freitas would be too much for Pacquiao? The fight hasn't happened yet and you're already too sure of the results? Can you back that up man?

**** and you were claiming not to be a hater. You're a HYPOCRITE buddy.
Don't even waste your time, Vanilla Gorilla is an idiot.

ok here...both started boxing in 1995. Pac started at 106. Freitas started at 135. Both are power punchers and both let it all hang out in the ring. Freitas being the naturally bigger man with the bigger punch and the advantage of being in the weight class his whole career should favor him. Pacquiao has a huge heart but a huge heart cant always guarantee you victory over bigger opponents who are just as skilled. I say a Freitas fight is 70/30 in favor of Freitas just because of what i've listed.

Hey, who told you I was a Pacquiao fan?

This fight is as even as they come. After hearing about this, I was really into the idea. Juan Diaz and Pacquiao both come to fight, its a dead even matchup. Pacquiao has the advantages in power and speed, but Diaz is stronger and fresher.

The big question is, how will Pacquiao adjust to the lightweight limit. Don't let the name fool you, lightweight is a precipitous leap for a former flyweight titlist. I really like the way Pacquiao has acclimated to 130, he has really compensated well for his smaller frame. But at 135, 10 pounds above where he was 2 years, it seems a little ambitious to me.

On the flipside, we haven't really seen Diaz fight the kind of fighter Pacquiao is. Since he's become champion, he's beaten guys like Sim, Suico, Irwin, guys who are painfully slow of foot. A mobile volume puncher is that type of fighters poison, a style they cannot contend with.

I'm also concerned about the way Diaz squares his shoulders often. It's a technique that only works with power punchers, which is why Corrales and Pacquiao have effective by throwing big shots with both hands. Diaz is a guy who likes to use his offense as his defense, and against a guy with quick feet and hands you can't get away with that. He also takes punches while squared up and has been vulnerable to straight shots down the middle. I dunno, his whole body position just seems custom made for a Pacquiao left hand.

The book is pretty much out on Pacquiao. He likes to fight, and its tough to beat him in his comfort zone. Pacquiao is a sturdy chinned fighter who comes to get it. They're styles are just a fight fans dream, this **** will exceed the Morales and Marquez wars. The Marquez fight wasn't as exciting as people make it out to be, it was just dramatic. Pacquiao-Diaz would be one of the most insane action fights, Barrera-Morales ****.

If a gun was held to my head, I would go with Pacquiao just cuz hes proved himself before. That said, I'd be insane to count Diaz out. I don't even care, I just wanna see them go to war!

                      unbiased post

diaz does square up, he does take quite a few punches but many land on the gloves.

if he didnt cover so well he'd get hit too much. although i think diaz does better when he boxes a bit more and turns his opponents. in fact i think his best performance was against sim who i see as being superior to jm cotto.

i think diaz can get hit with a straight left when he digs the left hooks to the body

i need to go back over the vids and see how well he keeps his right tagged to his chin when he throws multiple lefts

such as when he hits 2-3 lefts to body then one up top

aldo i think diaz seems to be able to take a punch better these days

he tasted the canvas early in his career (edit) but sim landed some hard shots that didn't seem to phase him

i hear some commentators suggesting diaz will move up in weight one day

i think he should shed some chub and move down. his hands are fast enough, and his power would be more evident

either way. i def hope this fight materializes, sooner better than later
