The record is deceptive because of his low KO%. He's incredibly heavy-handed and packs a lot of punch late in fights due to his gas-tank. His chin has been tested and unfazed and he's a very versatile fighter. He's light on his feet and he's somewhat of a speedster.

He's not afraid to mix it up on the inside, but he's also comfortable from range. He's got the length advantage, but he's not sacrificing the inside-fighting like a lot of other rangy boxers Golovkin has faced. His record is proof of this, he's been able to win in a lot of different ways thus far.

Something else that cannot be left unsaid is that it's very difficult to prepare for a guy you don't know much about. There aren't a lot of blueprints on how to solve Steve Rolls. Grainy youtube videos is about all you'll find without digging DEEP. That makes this fight especially tricky for Golovkin. Jonathan Banks is not going to be able to prepare GGG the same way he would have been able to prepare him for a guy like Canelo, Jacobs, or even Vanes. That's important because they're going to have to rely on in-fight adjustments, if needed, to win. There are some very real questions as to whether they'd be able to adjust their game-plan on the fly, especially given the situation (still a new trainer, etc).

Lastly, Rolls is a guy who has absolutely nothing to lose, and will likely go out on his shield and go for broke if needed. That's dangerous for Golovkin because his previous opponents, even Canelo, were weary of his power/skills. Steve Rolls has no reason to be afraid, he's on the grandest stage of them all right now and no one expects anything from him. This could be a classic case of looking past an opponent, especially given the trainer situation and how they essentially have no idea what to prepare for.

Combine Rolls' physical attributes, toughness, chin, footwork and quickness with all of the above and you have a very dangerous fight. Not to mention the pressure that's going to be on GGG to "get him out early."

Kudos to DAZN, K2 and anyone else involved in making the type of fight that we're all going to end up wanting to see, but just don't know it yet. They're thinking 2 steps ahead, I guarantee anything that Rolls would clean out the MW division after this fight (except for Canelo, Jacobs). It also gives an undefeated, hungry fighter a chance to make a name for himself
Rolls is undefeated but he is 32 years old and has never beaten anybody that good. I have never seen him fight but off his record I think GGG takes him out quickly with no problem and easily wins the rounds in a one sided beat down. If Rolls was good enough to clean out the MW division he would be a top contender by now at age 32 instead of a guy most never heard of before.

GGG won't need to make any in fight adjustments. He is a much high level boxer and will just beat the hell out of Rolls and KO him simple as that.

What I don't like is Loeffler and Golovkin putting all their eggs in the Canelo basket.
Can't even talk them into fighting guys like Charlo, Andrade, etc.
They claim fans are demanding a Canelo trilogy.
That's BS. Fans can live without that damn trilogy.
They'd rather see him fight other meaningful fights outside of the Mexican star.
Don't they have any dignity left and prove GGG's own star power?
Why perpetually be dependent on one guy for the rest of your career?

Canelo then heroically fought Jacobs in his next fight, a fighter GGG needed a gift win to get by.

Canelo could have waited 9 months out to fight an uber driver like Steve Rolls but instead he fought Fielding AND Jacobs within 8 months.
If Canelo is so great and heroic and GGG is a joke why didn't Canelo give GGG an immediate rematch instead of fighting Jacobs who GGG clearly beat and knocked down. Canelo is putting off the rematch as long as possible waiting for GGG to get older and older. Lots of viewers thought GGG beat Canelo both fights. Fights are scored by what happens in the ring not facial damage as you seem to go by. Canelo only won by scores of 115 to 113 twice and 114 to 114 and that's as close as it gets. That was in Canelo loving Vegas. Yet you make it sound like a one sided Canelo win. Your pro Canelo, anti GGG bias comes through loud and clear. GGG vs Canelo 3 is the fight most want to see and the biggest money fight. Yet team Canelo talks about fighting Spence, or a light heavyweight or Andrade or anybody else but GGG. Yes Rolls is a cherry pick. So what? GGG is not a champion so he has no obligation to fight a bad ass 3 months before Canelo is supposed to fight him if he has his nerve up. I'll be surprised if Canelo gives GGG his rematch in September. I think he is stalling as he knows GGG is no joke. Time will tell.

GGG gave Canelo two chances at his belts. He lost a home town decision by the closest possible amount and deserved and immediate rematch. Canelo should give him the
rematch right away instead of fighting a guy he already beat. It's obvious they want GGG as old as possible or Canelo would have fought GGG instead of Jacobs as he should have. If Canelo refuses to fight GGG in September then GGG will fight another top middleweight. GGG wants to fight Canelo the most and who can blame him for that? He wants to prove he can beat him before he is too old to do so.

ggg was nowhere to be found, dont act like ggg had any intentions of fighting canelo or anyone credible on 5 de mayo... the guy was still trying to recover and needed 9 months only to comeback and fight a scrub....
we must have all missed the part where ggg was asking canelo for an immedate rematch.... did he send canelo a video from the hospital or something ?

You need to understand that what fans thought or say means SH.IT.

Millions said that Floyd Lost the fight against Maida a and Castillo and he did not...

Canelo whooped the ass of GGG, GGG took a lot of punishment, got his face destroyed and he still resting and he will fight against a garbage they nobody knows and is not in the top-70 in the middleweight.

                    Period ...

                    Thats the reality, fanboy

GGG lost fair and square in the rematch. Grow up, you still crying like a girl.

GGG did not do a great fight. Took a lot of punishment, had a bad defense. Was not aggressive like he always was, Canelo controlled the center of the ring and was better in attack and defense .

It was a close fight but the right man won, period.

What your stu.pid mind thinks is not the reality

You are a fanboy that can't accept the reality

And the win of ggg against Jacobs was too close and GGG only won by the knockdown
