Comments Thread For: Haye: If Joshua Takes Ruiz Seriously - It Will Be Brutal, KO in Four

I’ll never believe another word from the mouth of David-best training camp ever-Haye!

I have a horrible feeling Ruiz is going to feel a few jabs and try to survive like Parker did. AJ also said ‘this will be a technical fight’ which is his code word for ‘I’m gonna jab all night’

Physique is not everything in boxing. Some of the hardest punchers are not muscular at all. There’s so much more to boxing than having a good physique. Ruiz just fought not long ago so he was already in decent shape 6 weeks will be plenty of time to train. If he comes in mentally right and can get inside of Joshua he can make it a fight.

Haye is being generous here. I believe Ruiz will be down and out within two rounds possibly as quick as Breazeale went down. Haye is right, take off the fats and from a muscle perspective, Ruiz is a cruiserweight. Cruiserweights have no business in the HW division unless they are extremely physically fit.

Hearn should give Ruiz next good paydays even if Joshua finishes him in the first round. I mean, guy saved him this card when Miller was off.

As we get closer, the more and more I feel this fight goes the distance

There is one aspect of this fight that gives me VERY small room for pause.

Ruiz is an accurate, and determined body puncher, it's a sustained attack, and because of his low center of gravity, it's difficult to prevent for a dude 6 foot 6. Ruiz also throws body punches during exchanges or after he slips.

AJ is used to dealing with strictly head hunters, and struggles with stamina, if this fight goes the distance, and Ruiz piles up the body work, this fight could be more interesting than it seems right now.
