Yeah exactly, a lot of these American/Mexicans consider themselves Mexicans. When they visit Mexico they cry to come back to the states after a week missing their Mcdonalds and bottled water.

When I go there a couple times a year I enjoy the culture, riding my uncles horses and chilling at my grandparents second home. (They’re citizens now) but nothing in the world compares to California. I’ll always be American first. I’ll leave that Mexico stuff to my parents, as they were born there. Mexico is beautiful but nothing compared to US. America first everything else second.

You’re saying all Americans are blue eyed and blonde hair? You’re naive. There’s probably more blonde in Mexico than in US. Just because you’re dark as hell doesn’t mean all Mexicans are like that.

When you’re American you’re American even if you have Mexican parents. I think these posts go over your head bro.

Ruiz probably mentioned Mexico partly because Mexican Fans support their fighters MUCH BETTER than Americans do, Examples Terence Crawford GREAT Fighter not much of a fan base, Errol Spence did good on his last fights PPV buys, but probably due to him fighting an American of Mexican descent Mikey Garcia, If/when Spence fights Porter if it is on PPV it will do poorly, Andre Ward in Pound for Pound top 2-3 but not much of a fan base, Exceptions like Mayweather who because of his gimmick bragging about how rich he is, people paid hoping he would lose, In other eras American fighters did well, Ali, Ray Leonard, Tyson, Today Wilder is like Tyson in he knocks almost everyone out, most early, but he does not have a base.

I claim both countries as my own because when I go there they don't treat me like a stranger, on the contrary people that don't even know me or my family they open up their home to us just because their family knew friends of my family.

There is a big community of retirees from all over the world, but 90% of Americans over 1.5 million and none of them have ever been disrespected or put down. So if Andy likes to count himself as a Mexican, so what?!
It just rubs me the wrong way because , how are you going to grow up in one country then say your going to bring the belts to another country which you dont even live in .

It's a figure of speech Man.
He says there's never been a Mexican Heavyweight champion so if he was to beat AJ then he'd be the first.
That's what he means by saying he'll take the titles back to Mexico.
But those titles have never been there since there's never been a Mexican Heavyweight champion before but you gotta read between the lines on what he's trying to say....

It's just the way he feels. Deep down he knows he's Mexican.
That's how I feel. I'm proud of being Mexican but I'm also proud and love this country.... The USA! Best country in the world!

There is Mcdonalds and bottled water in Mexico too you idiot all these people arguing about Ruiz are ******ed who gives a **** what he claims his parents are from Mexicali and how do you know he didn't spend some years there as well? Imperial Valley is only 40 minutes away from the Mexicali border maybe they have property there still you guys are idiots man I'm from a border city I have several friends who live in Nuevo Laredo but were born in Texas and went to or go to school in the United States they are dual citizens what does that make them in the end? They spend half the day in the United States and the other half in Mexico are they not Mexican enough or too American?

You guys look too deep into this **** and can't just see that in the end here in America you leave the southwestern United States and everyone is going to label you Mexican regardless if you have been here for generations that is why Andy claims Mexico not to mention he fought for Mexico in the Jr. Olympics and throughout his amateur career hell i'm sure Imperial Valley is pretty Mexican too as are most border area therefore he never lost the culture.

So you’d tell an Italian or Irish American to go back to Europe?
