What lol.I am so sick at the state of boxing today. here is a guy in his prime fighting a 40 year old part time blown up bantamweight. Thurman his staff and the promoter should be jailed for defrauding the public and Manny might even win.
can you imagine Duran leonard hearns etc doing this in their prime? they would not have even allowed it
Pacquiao is not a blown up bantamweight. That dude was weighing in at like 147lbs in the ring as early as his 126lb days iirc. For reference, Corrales weighed 147 in the rind when he was at 130, so did Jose Luis Castillo (@135). Those two were considered “big” for their weight class.
Pacquaio, because he’s short, is generally considered “small”. But as far as actual weight goes, Pacquiao’s small days were way back when he started and looked malnutritioned.
And in the Hatton fight, Hatton’s biggest advantage was seemingly his fight night size, he weighed a mere 4lbs heavier than “small” Pacquiao, 148 vs 152.Comment

You're partially right. This fight is acceptable for a couple of reason though. 1. Manny is still a credible challenge right now. He's still a top 5 WW. 2. Also, this could a changing of the guard type of fight. Passing the baton from one era to another. This is a time honored tradition for the sport. May not be a good one in most cases, but it's better than the trend that's happening of passing off a fighter moving up 2 weight classes to fight (Canelo/Khan, GGG/Brook, Loma/Rigo, Spence/Garcia).I am so sick at the state of boxing today. here is a guy in his prime fighting a 40 year old part time blown up bantamweight. Except Thurman ain’t on no Mayweather/De La Hoya/Canelo marketing level.I think this presents a different angle why the Spence fight isn't happening any time soon.
Thurman don't want to fight Spence because he feels that Errol needs to do more work. It's how he views things. Thurman even sees himself as the A-side against Pacquiao. So my guess is he didn't want to entertain Errol because he doesn't really have any clout to be talking to an A-side like him. To simplify it, Errol and Thurman does not belong in the same sentence in his personal view.
Deluded he is, thinking he’s some sort of money man. Both Spence and Crawford are more popular than him.Comment
