AJ had to face 2 other PBC fighters per the contract for getting a shot at Martin that Haymon drew up. So he couldn't have fought him then. Brezeale and Molina being the other 2.

And Takam was the IBF mandatory that had to be satisfied before fighting his WBA mandatory. Both the IBF and WBA released papers that made this very clear. Ortiz would have been after Takam but he instead went after Wilder. Then he failed a drug test which means he wouldn't have been able to fight anyway. Or have you forgotten about that as well?
