  • Comments Thread For: Hearn: Katie Taylor Is The Greatest Female Fighter Of All Time

Katie Taylor is days away from her undisputed lightweight championship showdown with Belgium's Delfine Persoon, yet is already viewed by at least one rabid supporter at the top of her respective field. The 2012 Olympic Gold medalist from Dublin, Ireland and reigning unbeaten three-belt titlist is on the short list of consideration for the best female boxer, pound-for-pound in the world today. She can further her cause with a win on Saturday, as she puts her three lightweight belts on the line versus Persoon who holds the division's last big chip as they collide at New York City's famed Madison Square Garden.

        Braekhus:
-longest reigning female world champion ever
-longest reigning four-belt undisputed champion ever, male or female
-most bouts undefeated by a female world champion ever
-Unified (WBA and WBC) champion since March 2009
-Three belt champion since she added the WBO in May 2010
-Undisputed champion since she added the IBF in September 2014
-Added the less important IBO belt in February 2016
-25 straight world title bouts, 25-0-0-0
        -Ring Magazine Pound-for-Pound Women's Champion

Shields and Taylor can talk when they either beat Braekhus or keep it up for another six or so years.

Until then the First Lady is the queen of boxing.

When he tries to hype a fight card up he really does more harm than good....

katie's fight is the only interesting one on that card but she isn't the greatest. if she beats delfine, amanda serrano, mccaskill again at super lightweight and then cecilia at welterweight, she can be in the converstation. the good thing is this is doable.

How is Shields - or Taylor for that matter - greater than Braekhus? P4P/H2H we'll never know now cos at 37 Cecilia can't be more than a year or two from retirement, but both have a long loooong way to go to match her accomplishments and longevity.

                    Um, what about Lucia Rijker?

                    Or Ann Wolfe?

                    Or Laila Ali?
