I look at it like, they're there for 12 rounds to battle bell in and bell out they don't need to be there any longer then they should. Atleast if a boxer talks crap and gets destroyed they should at least credit whoever whooped them and then leave.
Is It Ever Appropriate To Storm Out Of The Ring?

If you think you won & you don't want to stand there & talk about why you lost then that's' cool with me, & if you talked so much **** before the fight that you don't want to stand there & give excuses or kiss ass then that's cool too. IMHO as long as you're not just being a **** about it, it's alright to just walk away, cool off & then make your statement, it's better then talking at the heat of the moment & ending up looking like an *******.Comment

Originally posted by DiegoFuegoyup, I remember Lampley saying "and there goes a bloody, beaten, and broken Fernando Vargas" as Vargas made his way out almost crying as he went. looked really bad for Vargas.Comment

Originally posted by DiegoFuegoand you're telling me Wright didn't look like an ******* for storming out? He looked like a baby, and Vernon Forrest looked like the wuss Mayorga made him out to be. Storming out of the ring is detrimental to the way the world views you. Dan Rafael ripped Winky for doing it, and you gotta realize Rafael is the #1 source for boxing for casual fans because he runs ESPN's boxing coverage.
yah but Wright actually walked over to Taylors corner and gave him a hug and said "good fight" right after the fight. I dont think he was an ******* for not wanting to stick around for the post fight with Larry. As far as the Forrest incident...i dont remember it. Did he just storm out after the decision was made ? I usually dont have a problem with not wanting to stick around after the decision but a fighter should at least touch gloves with the other guy and there corner after a fight.Comment

Originally posted by DiegoFuegoWright acted like he was robbed, which is just laughable. Forrest was up on the corner with his hands raised and when they announced Mayorga the winner, he just walked out. Couldn't tell if he was disgusted or heartbroken. Either way, Mayorga turned him into the pansy that he claimed Forrest was. Broke my heart too, but hey, this is boxing. The strong survive.
Yah Wright did act like he was robbed wich was not the case. Maybe he should have stuck around. With Forrest ...I'm pretty sure he was more heartbroken knowing that in the first fight Mayoraga made him look like a frightened little boy. Thats why he dissapeared for awhile, lol. The thing is had Forrest just boxed smart and stayed outside in the first fight he prolly could have won. GO figure...Comment

Yeah Vargas was almost in tears, he wasn't thinking about his image to the world, he got the **** beat out of him(just like Mayorga), IMO as long as you go & show respect for your opponents victory then you don't have stand & answer questions(which I don't recall if Vargas did or not), it's just seems like a very emotional situation. As for Winky that frustration from a bout he knows he won, wether you agree or not, I personally think he won too, but it was close & like i said before if you don't want to answer questions about why you lost or gave up the last round(which in my opinion he didn't) then that's fine with me. So as long as your not being a **** and give respect to your opponent you dont have to do anything else.Last edited by AllEyesOpen; 07-18-2006, 04:03 PM.Comment
