It’s literally no tv coverage for fight here in states.... Haven’t saw any ads, tv interviews on any of major talk/late night shows and nothing on radio. Maybe it picks up this week but dazn been dropping the ball advertising the app

Edit: just was on first take kinda dropped ball in interview with the question max asked about him being only one that haven’t fought other top fighters and if fans going start putting pressure on him to get in ring with them, ventured into the “thats they opinion he really not paying attention to that brings back the if fans wanna see him a fight with wilder so bad train and get in ring themselves statement he made... Overall though nice to hear him say him and wilder need leave promoters and managers home and meet face to face get deal done

Honestly, the casual American sports fan has no idea at all who Anthony Joshua is. To be fair, up until a year or so ago, the casual American sports fan really didn't know all that much about Deontay Wilder either. Wilder has had some exciting, high-profile highlight reel wins in the last year though, and he's clearly made a concerted effort to market himself as the new "Baddest Man on the Planet." He's not quite as edgy as Iron Mike was, but he clearly gets how important it is to sell his personality.

For this exact reason, I don't see AJ ever being all that popular in the States. Even though he's black, he's just way too 'vanilla' for the American fan. Just cultural differences I suppose, but American fans prefer someone a lot edgier and lot less civilized. We still want the next Mike Tyson. Americans never cared for the Klitschko's, despite the fact that they were wonderful human beings. We just do not get excited about nice guys; especially when it comes to fighting. TBH, even though he's one generation removed from Nigeria (or was he actually born there?), a lot of Americans, after listening to and watching AJ for ten minutes, might not even consider the dude black. To us, he comes across as phony, especially when trying to talk smack. I don't say any of this to be intentionally disrespectful of anyone.

Ironic given that so much of the American persona and national psyche is phoney. Everyone putting on a front and overly concerned with what other people think of them. Particularly black American culture with all that bling, “hoes”, trash talk, bollocks, etc... it’s all completely phoney. Rarely have I met many genuine Americans who are just willing to be real and not give a **** what other people think.
