Everything was going fine, normal back and forth Q&A and then one guy asks why he won't fight Margarito for $8M and Floyd goes on a tirade. ROFLMAO. It's so obvious Floyd does not want to fight this guy for the world.

His new excuse is that Margarito hasn't beaten anybody and does nothing for his legacy. Wow, what did beating a Judah that just got beat by Baldomir do for your legacy? What about beating Bruseles, Chop-chop, etc.? LOL He's always talked about money this, money that, the reason he wouldn't take the Baldomir fight was because the money wasn't right, everyone prices themselves out, etc etc.

But NOW, when the most dangerous fighter at his weight is offered to him for a career-high payday, all he can do is talk about the guy's record and how he did some expiriment with people on the street and nobody knew who Margarito was. LOL I have news for Floyd, if I walked down the street with a picture of Floyd in street clothes asking people to ID him, I can guarantee you I'd be asking all day before I got one person who knew of him. Boxing isn't like that anymore. The events are bigger than the fighters. Half the people who attend the fights in Vegas go because of the event, not because of a fighter, and most of them do not follow boxing until there's a new event coming up.

I mean, are there any PBF fans out there who can offer a perspective on this? I hate to just diss on a guy constantly, but this is getting ridiculous. I'd respect Floyd more if he just said that he's scared of Margarito or is not ready for him or something. This tap dance spin every day, trying to find a new excuse to dodge Margarito, is getting very old.
If he doesn't take the fight with Margarito now, I will have to say that he is ducking him. Up until now, I could justify not wanting to fight a guy that brings nothing to your legacy who is dangerous without your top two cornermen. Now, the fight has been moved to Floyd's date on his scheduled network so no more excuses. I think that the reason he bashes fighters so much is to create the spectacle you are talking about. The general public likes a WWE-style atmosphere leading up to fights. Look at how Floyd insulted Gatti left and right before the fight, but he took it. And after the fight was over, he acted like a gracious winner and admitted that a lot of the talk was simply pre-fight BS (Mike Tyson was the king of this). Before Judah lost he was taking the same approach, but after the loss he realized he needed a different strategy.

So what fighter is going to do more for his legacy? Exclude Mosely, DLH and Hatton, all of whom have said they aren't fighting Floyd this year.

Margarito is regarded as the most dangerous puncher at 147, holds a world title, and is coming off of three big KO wins.

why we got to exclude Mosley, I know what he said, but I know what he said about fighting Vargas again too, $$$ is big motivator for him as well, if aint Mosley, then Floyd will prolly sparr with margarito

I can't argue with any of this. Good, thought out response, Mechslave

Damn the more PBF opens his mouth the more he exposes himself. I have been hearing that excuse over and over again from his BLIND NUTHUGGERS but I have never expected to hear it from him. He just pwned himself. LMAO! I wanted to believe that he realy wanted money fights now he doesn't want 8 Million?

I'm not hating on PBF, I just wanted this goddam fight to happen.

What's up in pin pointing Mexicans? How sure are you that all these people who wanted this fight to happen are all Mexicans?

Just be very very careful dude. That's senseless and baseless.

This is not about race so lets not make it that way. Regardless of color everybody (who is a boxing fan) has a right to express their opinions about the Mayweather-Margarito fight (or no fight). I don't see any other opponent as a possibility other than the outside chance of it being Mosley. If Floyd fights Spinks, I will no longer consider him one of my favorites.
