Smart move by Arum.
However, I dont think Floyd will take the bait just yet.
I think he wants to see how the Mosley situation plays out as well as Gatti vs Baldomir this weekend.
I also think Winky must be right in that it is Margarito's last fight on his contract because Arum is trying mighty hard to get him a big fight.
Floyd was also upset with Arum his whole career for not being on PPV but soon as his contract was about to end then he got him the Gatti fight and Zab after that.
Im sick of promoters doing that. Its just like Warren was doing with Hatton. He gets him no big fights and then when the contract is nearly up or the fighter is about to leave, then they always find a fight like Warren did with Tszyu
bull **** I don't care who you mayweather spinks bull ****en ****. spinks may be a pure boxer but he does not have the speed of floyd nor punch selection nor movment nore power or skill or endurance or championship experiance. Marg vs floyd natural size and power better work rate, a family to fight for, not as unskilled as we might think, will impose his size on floyd. However I canot pick a winner. Mayweather will brutaly own spinks like he did mitchel. You will see mayweathers most brutal performance agienst spinks because he will never stop punching he will get in the best shape of his life and not loose a round to spinks. Marg on the other hand poses more challanges. Floyd canot ko marg but he can spinks with not to much troble. I will appen in the 7th rounf when spinks blows his load up his own ass.
Man, all you guys can say what you want but Spinks is a damn good fighter. People act like this guy never beat Zab, Karmazin, & Mayorga.
If Spinks fought Mosley or Margarito right now, I would easily pick him and I think he wins those fights fairly comfortably
That damn Arum, he something else, he saw the interviews that floyd was doing saying Jin mosley run the household and all this so he knew it was onlya matter of time before Shane jumped in there so he ups the ante to try force Floyd to fight Margarito and I think his strategy might work. I would be very surprised if Floyd didnt just go ahead and whoop on Margarito and end him, take the 8M.
Its also funny that this new offer is being made at the same time that Winky has made an offer to margarito. And it could have swore that the 8M was a one time offer only for OCT., only in boxing, I swear this is worst than policticians.
Everything was going fine, normal back and forth Q&A and then one guy asks why he won't fight Margarito for $8M and Floyd goes on a tirade. ROFLMAO. It's so obvious Floyd does not want to fight this guy for the world.
His new excuse is that Margarito hasn't beaten anybody and does nothing for his legacy. Wow, what did beating a Judah that just got beat by Baldomir do for your legacy? What about beating Bruseles, Chop-chop, etc.? LOL He's always talked about money this, money that, the reason he wouldn't take the Baldomir fight was because the money wasn't right, everyone prices themselves out, etc etc.
But NOW, when the most dangerous fighter at his weight is offered to him for a career-high payday, all he can do is talk about the guy's record and how he did some expiriment with people on the street and nobody knew who Margarito was. LOL I have news for Floyd, if I walked down the street with a picture of Floyd in street clothes asking people to ID him, I can guarantee you I'd be asking all day before I got one person who knew of him. Boxing isn't like that anymore. The events are bigger than the fighters. Half the people who attend the fights in Vegas go because of the event, not because of a fighter, and most of them do not follow boxing until there's a new event coming up.
I mean, are there any PBF fans out there who can offer a perspective on this? I hate to just diss on a guy constantly, but this is getting ridiculous. I'd respect Floyd more if he just said that he's scared of Margarito or is not ready for him or something. This tap dance spin every day, trying to find a new excuse to dodge Margarito, is getting very old.

This aint new, he been saying this before the Judah fight. And he is right, Margo aint beat nobody and it doesnt do anything for his legacy. Judah was the undisputed champ at 147 when the fight was made, Bruseles was an elimantor fight I beleive and I think Floyd wasn't recognized as the best fighter when he fought chop chop. When building your legacy, their comes a time when u got to change who u fight and what u do, it's called growth. Margo aint really offering nothing in a competitive way, I see him as less than Judah, he has no lateral movement and swooping punches, and he supposed to beat the best fighter in the world.

Judah LOST, though. Floyd went on a media campaign apologizing for the guy, he wanted the payday so bad. So he tried to build Judah up to keep the fight going. "If it makes dollars, it makes sense." That's what he told us a couple of months ago.
So what fighter is going to do more for his legacy? Exclude Mosely, DLH and Hatton, all of whom have said they aren't fighting Floyd this year.
Margarito is regarded as the most dangerous puncher at 147, holds a world title, and is coming off of three big KO wins.
