    Future Heavyweight fights

    Date: Saturday, 11th November, 2006
Heavyweight Wladimir Klitschko vs Shannon Briggs

    Date: Saturday, 02nd September, 2006
Heavyweight James Toney vs Samuel Peter

    Date: Saturday, 05th August, 2006
Heavyweight Serguei Lyakhovich vs Kevin McBride

Just doesn't look to be enough to even get close to a "champion" by 2007.

This fight should have never been signed.

agreed completely, however i'm actually looking forward to seeing the other three (which is surprising given the division for me)

I agree. I am looking forward to Wlad/Briggs the most. I hope Maskaev KO's Rahman and he disappears forever and the same thing can be said about fat ass Toney.

Not sure you saw this though..

HBO has pulled it's October 7 PPV date, which Top Rank Inc had on hold for an Antonio Margarito fight. We understand that HBO pulled the date so Don King Productions can stage a heavyweight championship doubleheader featuring Sergei Liakhovich and Nikolay Valuev in seperate title defenses. Liakhovich is expected to face Mike Tyson conqueror Kevin McBride while Valuev will face former title challenger Monte "Two Gunz" Barrett. Madison Square Garden appears to be the frontrunner to host the event as this goes to print.

Thats what I heard as well. Can barret or mcbride be competative in those fight no not ever a billion trillian gazillian to win nether man has a punchers chance. now switch the opponents then you may have closer fights that could really be interesting but as they stand they are pathetic but will watch them anyway.

I would love to see a Liakhovich/Valuev fight. But alas it's only McBride and Barrett.

i gotta disagree, i kinda like fights like this

if you gamble real money on these fights you gotta love a sure thing.

obviously valuev/barrett should have never been sigend either.

i mean cmon, barrett lost his last fight and it was more than a year ago.

they may as well bring michael jordan out to have a dunk contest against lebron james
