I'm against catchweights for titles or rankings. This stuff is getting ridiculous. Cotto after he won the Middleweight title announced that he won't fight anyone unless he fights them at a catchweight. Canelo just weight restricted Jacobs which was contrary to the IBF rules. The instance I recalled that turned me off was when Leonard fought LaLonde for a SM and LH title simultaneously at a catchweight.

I walk around at 142-148, I will get down with anyone under 6'6. I don't think weight matters much. (I'm 5'11 btw). People worrying about weight are just making excuses. I constantly walk heavyweight fighters down and it's confusing to them. I'm kind of mean and have zero regard for humanity. I just realized recently that I'm a terrible person and that nobody is rooting for me. I don't care though. Bring on them 6'7 giants and their big brothers.I probably deserve a good punch to the face if they can land it. #hashtag

Crap, wrong convo/thread. If you weigh the weight limit or less, it's a go

Completely against it and I'll take it a step further and hope to see same day weight ins again. Catch weights never really prove anything

Ridicules, a full blown WW is dead at 140 , they dont have a pound to spare let alone come down 7.

Going up will not hurt you going down can and will shipwreck you.

Youve never boxed and had to make weight thats obvious, at top level which is F1 level they cannot play with pounds like that, any top guy thats at his perfect power to weight does not have a division to lose.

Imagine Spence at 140, dead man walking just like 145 Oscar was against Manny who out weighed him on fight night, lol ODH was usually around 160, being 145 was a fair fight right lol.

then they're not real 147 fighters!!! those guys are bigger guys draining to fight at 147!! a real 147 fighter coming down to 140 will not really effect him.

If a boxer can make weight in his division he's a member of that division. It been like that since weight divisions were formed. That 147 pound fighter that makes weight Is a real Welterweight. For a big guy like Hurd coming down in weight would be devastating for him. Lemieux spent time in the hospital trying to make weight in his division never mind trying make a catchweight. If two guys want to fight at a catchweight to make some money fine as long as a title or ranking are not involved.

Crazy talk because the real top guys make the lightest weight they can with no loss of power and endurance, and they are always just making the division limit , they are the real WWs, start at WW always at WW or they grow bigger never below by a division, that notion is unrealistic fan talk that sees numbers not what they translate to in the real world of boxing.

How many world title fights you had, how many main events you had, have you boxed professionally ?

As an analogy youre a lawn mower man saying what dont matter much at the highest levels of F1 racing, we are not talking bumfights but the highest level of boxing.
