"There’s no doubt in my mind they don’t want to fight Deontay Wilder in April,” Finkel exclusively told World Boxing News.

“If they did, they wouldn’t have sent a contract with more impediments in it than the first time. I mean, they don’t even have their own lies together right now.

“Joshua said he’d send a signed contract that removed all impediments and that it would be signed by him, but the contract is not even signed by him – it’s signed by Eddie Hearn. Barry (Hearn) also sent a tweet out yesterday stating the contract was signed by ‘AJ’ but it’s not. And…added to that, they have now put more blocks on the rematch clause than before.

“In the original contract for a fight in 2018, Deontay rejected it because of the rematch clause only being in place for Joshua. Now, they’ve added that a rematch won’t take place if it’s a draw. I mean, there has to be a rematch if there’s a draw, they don’t even have their own story straight!

He continued: “The bottom line is, they don’t want to make the fight. They didn’t want to make it in September, and they don’t want to make it now – for April. If they did, they would have changed the things (Deontay was adverse to in the original contract) like Joshua said they would.

“Obviously, whether Joshua is afraid…or they are afraid, they are fooling the public regarding this fight. They are not looking to fight Deontay Wilder on April 13th.

“They are lying, they don’t want to fight April 13th or they wouldn’t have sent the contract the way they did.

“The fact is, they sent a contract worse than before and left in the things Deontay wanted changed. They have no desire to fight on April 13 whatsoever and they keep telling the public lies.

Asked whether this could be the final nail in the coffin for Joshua v Wilder, Finkel responded: “I’m just fed up discussing this bull**** with them because it’s one bull**** after another.

“People who want to be his fans – that’s fine, but don’t believe the lies coming from the Joshua side surrounding these negotiations.

“Deontay Wilder wants this fight and it’s not down to anything on his side that’s it’s not happening.
    "
That makes no sense. Why was AJ supposed to sign Wilder's contract?

The contract is between fighter and promoter, not fighter and fighter!

AJ signs his own contract, Wilder signs his. That's how it"s supposed to work.

The bookies say its not 50/50. They are the only ones not biased.

(not suggesting you are, just that they aren't)

        Yawn

What a mismatch designed to pad Joshua's record. Is this phoney going to ever fight a legitimate threat. So far his biggest challenge has been against an already beaten , ring rusty, 40 year old Klitchko and he had to get off the floor and win against a gassed Klitchko. Now his management lo balls any real challenge so he gets to fight fat Ruiz and yet he STILL needs a rematch clause and a carefully selected set of judges and referee to even do this. No doubt anymore why he's a distant number 3 behind Wilder and Fury

Lmao oldest trick in the book, but A+ for effort.
With AJ’s tendacy to get hit with straight right hands. So the fight could very well turn into a who lands first type deal. And if that’s the case. I like Wilder’s chances of surviving anything AJ lands. As opposed to AJ surviving getting blasted by arguably the hardest right hand in the history of boxing.

It makes me smile when Hearn talks this bollocks, along with Arum and Finkel and very much Barry Hearn this fight should have taken place.Instead this guys three top guys Tyson and Joshua are fighting second raters just as Wilder did last week but the idiot's seem to love being conned!

This is the only fight ever where the supporters of the champ seem to think he will lose lol...

The reason is obviously that this is such a ridicolous matchup that they need to pretend they are afraid.

                    will hearn take the gamble?

will he gamble having the fight off DAZN? will he gamble AJ losing and then having nothing to bring DAZN? having his golden goose ruined by wilder? that's a big gamble....if hearn loses AJ being the "champ" than most of his value in the sport is gone...hearn is no longer a power player if AJ gets ruined....

go for it eddie...take the plunge...we all want to see it....but eddie knows his standing in the world of boxing is on the line.....al haymons wont diminish if wilder loses....that's the difference

Wilder is next former champion (he lost the belt already), Josh will send into retirement like Wladmir Klitschko and Povetkin. He just need to grow a pair and take the fight.
Lol! Do you think that Joshua is going to resist an atomic bomb right hand in his weak chin? Come on my friend....Wilder only need a second to resolve Joshua....Joshua is going to be very busy tryng to avoid that bomb, but only in a second he can see the lights....
