A guy coming off a 3-yr lay-off that ballooned to 600lbs, apart from drug and mental health issues.

No one gave Fury a chance in that fight and it just showed Wilder is a terrible boxer. If he had worked Fury’s body, rather than swinging the windmill around, he would have won the fight with ease.

If Wilder had fought the Fury that fought Wlad, then you’d have a point.

Funny, several people were on record as saying Wilder by KO or Fury by decision. Plenty gave him a chance .

I'll piggyback off of your post. Early in these negotiations, I was slightly in favor of AJ but the more I look at their particular strengths and weaknesses, Wilder has become the favorite. The thing is that I still feel that AJ is the better boxer technically and skill wise but his stiff, upright style and tendency to catch and shoot with his counters just seems to be all wrong against Wilder. Everyone isn't as awkward and elusive as Fury and he damn near had to fight the perfect fight and still got clipped twice.

Povetkin was shorter so AJ had to dip down. He won't need to do that with Wilder as they're the same height.

The pace of the fight will be slow with them both being aware of each others power.. No way it's done at a high tempo.

Those who said Fury by decision only said that if it managed to get to the cards because Fury is by far the better boxer.

But I don’t think anyone believed Fury would survive 12 rds after the 3-yr lay-off and having to lose so much weight.
