It doesn't absorb as quick as water.

I always thought it'd be hilarious for a boxer in between rounds to look at his trainer and say something like "I know how to beat him, get me some gaterade" or something similar. On a side note does anyone remember the old brisk iced tea commercial with Rocky?

I swear, I cn't tell any difference from Gatorade and water except the flavoring. I don't feel energized when I drink Gatorade but I can definitely taste the salt in it (I don't put salt on anything I eat). I can wear myself out until I'm completely exhausted as long as I have water in my corner. For some reason, I think that my fatigue point wouldbe sooner if I had to rely on Gatorade instead.

I'de never heard gatorade isn't drank by boxers. Doesn't Floyd drink Mountain Dew during training camps? That's uh, not gatorade.

Far as absorption, the electrolytes in gatorade are the same as those in IV bags to keep patients hydrated. In theory, drinking it works well, but, most gatorade these days seem like kid drinks so who knows how effective it is these days.

I've read that Gatorade is better for hydration than water, but it's meant to be drunken after competing. Drinking Gatorade during a workout makes you more prone to cramping.

Plus boxers don't want the canvas to get sticky.

Gatorade doesn’t do ****. All “studies” were poorly done and sponsored by gatorade.

I drink tons of Gatorade Zero while I work out. Love that stuff. Tastes surprisingly good.

I am sure boxers can drink Gatorade while in training camp.

Gatorade is something you would want to consume after training or a fight etc

Or you could just drink mineral water and eat food.

I believe it. We spend some money on water bottles too.
