Comments Thread For: Pacquiao: Thurman is The Type of Challenge That I Crave

Keith Thurman keeps calling Manny Pacquiao a legend, and in the boxing world, he probably is correct. Then the undefeated welterweight champion keeps promising to end the ring career of the senator from the Philippines. That could happen, too. For once, Pacquiao is the underdog in the July 20 fight in Las Vegas for the WBA belt.

Thats legend talk coming from Pac, but I doubt he's capable at 40 to walk the talk. But I'm sure any underestimating that Thurman might be acting on will be met with certain defeat. A 40yr old Pac is just enough to get the job done if he's looked at as too old.

          Possibility...

Pacquiao beats Thurman. Pacquiao's stock goes up.

Then Pacquiao is fed and loses to Spence. Spence's stock and more importantly, his popularity goes up.

This sets up an even bigger purse for Spence vs Crawford.

          All business

Thurman made his name by knocking out national level fighters. Once he stepped up in class, he stopped knocking people out. He’s solid and has a good chance to win a decision though.

No fire fight, this will be high level chess

Pacquiao is going to do what he does best, he will win by UD. The only fighter at this point i think he should avoid is Bud. 2014 Pac thou would make Bud look pedestrian, now? Not so much.

I think it will be more like Pac vs. Marquez II, than Pac vs. Mayweather!

Perfect timing on Pacquiaos team to match him up vs Thurman... Thurman has not looked very good since his return and still has lay off rust... I see Pacquiao beating one time...
