the fact of the matter is Margarito wont get the recognition he deserves fighting the guys you just mentioned. You cant blame him for going along with arum. The welterweight division needs a new mexican superstar now that DLH is gone and Vargas is probably gonna retire. Margarito's fanbase is a rather small one because no one really knows who he is.

Even Roy didn't hold the WBO, not because he didn't want to but because Darrin Michalski was holding on to the title. Im look, Roy had the IBO in his prime, so don't try and down play the WBO, though i aggree its not a main title. But fighters do like this title.
