Actually, it was the opposite. The ref broke them up as soon as they got on the inside. It only happened 4 times throughout the fight, but AJ haters and weirdos wanted to make out that it was a constant occurrence.

Kinda hate the 2 fight deal doe. Although in fairness if the first fight sucks I imagine all sides will have some agreement in place to not pursue a rematch. Plus it likely means one of the belts gets stripped so even after we have a undisputed champion it'll be short lived cuz the ABC Groups got jokes.

If Wilder & DAZN agree to terms watch Ruiz beat Joshua out of the f#cking blue or Joshua tear something & is out for 8 months or some sh^t & f#ck up this fight from happening next or something.

Honestly... I think the checkbook option is now basically dead, tbh; the view count on Wilder's KO from the formal CBS Sports social media screen was over 10 million views within the day, with CBS Sports, FS1, ESPN, and even NBC and non-sports platforms committing time/energy/space to hype Wilder.

Assuming Joshua doesn't **** the bed next Saturday, Wilder-Joshua will blow by the 2m PPV buys of the biggest heavyweight fight ever and maybe even give Mayweather-Pacquiao a run.

Both would be entering the unification voluntarily.

It's hardly new for voluntary defences to include rematch clauses and as both hold belts it's rational they should both have that option.

Are we forgetting that way back when.. when the first offers were being tabled, that wilder and finkel threw a fit when there was no rematch offer on the table for wilder? But one for AJ?

If they felt the way most ( uneducated ) people here feel re: rematch clauses they wouldn't have kicked up such a fuss.

If there was no rematch clause and say Joshua in a hypothetical example ****** out wilder or vice versa in the 5th, or 6th, with scorecards even, the respective Dan bases of the loser would be crying for a rematch.

This takes care of it and nullifies the ability of either camp to not offer the chance of redemption.

No one is arguing that having a rematch clause is not valid; this is my first time hearing of Mr Cunningham, he is within his standing to speak, but locking in the location now makes no sense.

For argument's sake, let's say Anthony Joshua knocks out Andy Ruiz inside 4, Joshua calls Wilder out, Joshua's management and Wilder's management come to an agreement, and the fight happens to close out the year in December.

Wilder-Joshua for the unified/lineal heavyweight championship happens from T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, and the fight breaks 3.5m homes on PPV.

Regardless of who wins the first fight, why would Anthony Joshua ever want THAT fight in the UK, where the max pot is like equivalent to $50m plus whatever DAZN is willing to pay beyond the ~$4m that Showtime and HBO put up to air Joshua's last monster fight at 2pm on Saturday?

I agree Wilder's Q score has risen greatly in recent months & even recent days, but idk if its the #1 revenue generating HW PPV surpassing legends Tyson & Holyfield just cuz some mfers watched a gif on SM. Lotsa Americans don't really know Joshua yet to be invested in this fight. And plenty aren't invested enough in Wilder to drop $80 on a PPV.

And idk wtf Wilder thinks hes gonna get THAT much better than what he was offered. I suspect we could see a 40M per/3 fight offer or a 50M per/2 fight deal & thats a nice bump from his 30M per/4 fight deal. But I mean if DAZN retains Joshua's rights Wilder is likely to be the one needing to jump or the fight ain't happening.

I think you are right..... Wilder will want to force the fight to go the wilder way which he has advantage. If it gets down to boxing skills decide, he knows he will loose woefully, so it's who land first.

That's not how any of this works.

Wilder comes in behind a really good jab, good movement, and fighting in space looking to place that right hand clean; Anthony Joshua comes in behind that conventional guard, comes forward, and uses an alright jab to get into range to fire the array. Both take a good shot, but Wilder withstands the bigger shot, imo.

Wilder didn't force much against Breazeale; he did get excited about he clipped Breazeale with that shot, come unglued for a moment, ate two desperation rights, clinched and then got back to the plan. Change the head slot, good heavy and hard lead jab, get the gauge for some of the other shots, but most importantly, find a way to get that right hand to the jaw.
