    LOL,

Anyway, just looking at past fights of they have had i.e. Gatti vs Ward...I just can't picture Ward finishing any of those fights on his feet if Cotto had landed as many power shot on Ward as Gatti did in those fights.

But to be fair, I'm not sure if Cotto would've still been on his feet if he took as many power shots as Gatti did in those fights.

But since were talking about punching power and not chin I would have to go with Cotto.

Cotto has show his tuffness too though, the shots Torres was landing on him were pretty brutal, Cotto showed he's got heart.

As for who hits harder, i'd say Cotto. I think Gatti's punches look harder then they really are, not to say they're not hard. In the 2nd round of his fight with De La Hoya Gatti landed a perfect left hook that snapped De La Hoya's kneck yet he didnt looked fazed at all.

If they both punched a meter with a left hook, I'd say Gatti.

But Gatti is not as accurate or consistent as Cotto is.

I got to give it to Cotto. Look at what he did to Paulie M. and he was known as a boxer-type. If his face looked like that imagine if had a brawler like Mickey Ward in front of him.

One punch knockout power, of course Gatti.

Whats unique about Cotto is he uses his power to completely break down his opponent. I don't know who would win if they fought, maybe it will happen if Gatti beats Baldomir. That would be a good matchup.

Gatti has more natural KO power, Cotto is huge @ 140 so his punches just sap the energy out of his opponents. I need to see what Cotto can do at his natural weight of 147.

Oh, I'm not saying he isn't tough I just wanted to balance my arguement so that critics would'nt just say I was a Cotto nuthugger. Personally I would put my money on Cotto versus anyone at 147lbs with the exception of Mayweather or Zab. I think a slick boxer with enough pop to make Cotto respect them when Cotto cuts off the ring would be Cotto's biggest challenge.

I completely agree. Same with a certain fighter by the name of Margarito.

Gatti hits harder than Cotto? Not sure about that, never seen Gatti KO anybody with a shoulder shot. Gatti's biggest KO was against Joey Gamache, Gatti put him to sleep in the 1st rd. Fight was at 140, both made weight, Gatti showed up at 160, nearly killed the poor bastard, and I didn't hear anybody complaining about Gatti's weight advantage.
