Does Wilder prove the argument all the great American HW's went to other sports?

I'm in awe of fighters but in terms of other sports they're not that special.

They're emerging from a small pool of potential. To make the top in soccer you have to be the best of the best of the best. Supreme talent is the absolute minimum. There are hundreds of millions who you've got to be better than.

Kids aren't boxing in school. The vast majority will never go near a ring.

You can take up boxing as an adult and become the best in the world. That's a joke, right?

So I think Deontay proves the point. There are kids that could be a champ if they didn't go into other sports. It doesn't necessarily prove the American point though.

There are more Africans in Africa then there are African Americans in America!
It's a global thing. Supreme African athletes get grabbed by soccer clubs in Europe at an early age. If they boxed, they'd dominate the sport.

And you could say the same at all weights for people all over the globe.

      Not really.

Not to say that there isn't someone that could turn out to be something great from one of the big sports but the truth is that no one would know it until they make the attempt. But that could be said of anyone from any background.

I personally lean more to an answer of no because the first thing is you have to be willing to get your ass beat. Most have to much pride to let another man get the better of them while they are learning the sport. It's not like other sports. There truly has to be an eagerness to fight within someone otherwise it just won't work. You can't simply go through the motions otherwise you may wind up making a simple mistake against a devastating puncher. In the HW division you have to have a chin, no exceptions, and that's not something that you know you have until it's been tested.

Furthermore this is not a team sport. There is no support, no excuses, or built in fan base. The show does not continue and you get to resume to your former status when things are good again. It simply ends.

The simple truth is that if a fighter wants to fight he is going to fight. It won't be because another sport took their interest. When you go to the gym and see young kids/adults training everyday and compare them to there counterparts in other sports you will realize the difference in them. They weren't forced into this sport. They chose it the same Wilder did when he was 20.

Plus the vast majority of Americans play no sport at all and are fat couch potatoes
In America, it is a sport of the privileged.

I'm telling you what I know.

I'm Black, grew up in the Black community, we don't play that shxt. We play basketball, football, and run track.

Soccer in America is a sport for girls and suburban pxssies.

Now, immigrants and their kids from Latin America may like it, but not America's native born poor people.

And yes, most of us do play a sport, just not that one

And my point soccer is the cheapest sport to play and you need the ball and that is it to play.

It is played by the poorest all over the world.

You don't have to be privileged to play, as shown by the whole world.

I never said you HAD to be rich to play it, only that in AMERICA it is for the privileged and girls.

I know dirt poor countries play it, but America's poor people show zero interest in it (outside of the children of immigrants)

Soccer is right in the mix

And in the UK Rugby takes a lot of talent away from the heavyweight scene as well

Again, I can tell you don't live in America.

That's counting suburban White kids, because there's more of them. White people are 70% of the population

America's greatest athletes are Black kids that come from the INNER CITY, that's where LeBron and guys like that are from.

                    See how high baseball is?

Baseball's been dying in Black communities for years, yet it's still high on the list, why?

Because White people still play it.

And Rugby players are not the best athletes on the planet.

They're a lot smaller and less athletic than America's football players, who are bigger, stronger, and faster.

                    Just stop while you're behind
