Canelo doesn't "marinate." You have to respect that.

What? he ducked GGG for 2 years, and even handed his WBC title to him. He does take the big fights though, fair play to him, but he did wait for GGG to look older.
I do believe we'll see Canelo fight mostly big fights now. DAZN won't be giving him $350m without a big say in who he fights and get some return on their investment, it's not charity.Canelo fought Borat 14 months after he tossed the WBC title for imposing a negotiation deadline on him.
And Borat could’ve got the fight sooner if he wasn’t such a difficult diva that thinks he is the superstar. Borat simply didn’t take the fight until he was happy with every aspect of negotiations, which is not Canelo’s fault. Dude clearly is not the businessman type.Didn't GGG take step aside money to allow Canelo vs Cotto to happen?
Team GGG: No Cotto-Canelo Without Step Aside Deal
https://www.boxingscene.com/team-ggg...de-deal--91150In 2015 the highest weight Canelo had competed at was 155 and he was only 24-25 years old. He won the Cotto fight - for the MW title - at 155 pounds. That was the weight MIGUEL COTTO wanted as Roach/Cotto were convinced Canelo was struggling to make 155.Hey, ******.
Before that contract Canelo went down 2 pounds to fight Floyd when he was 23 years.
Pues.y GGG never wanted to moved down or up in weight to fight.
Before the contract Canelo fought with Trout.
Cotto had a rematch clause and did not try to avenge his L
Before the contract, he fought with Lara that has a boring style and it's a difficult style.
Shu.t up man
This guy is doing great things and has a great career
After winning Canelo said he would fight GGG at 155 and I remember GBP even mentioning 157 as a possibility. GGG refused and said "no catchweights". At 34-35 years old GGG refused a few pounds to fight the face of boxing. That is nobody's fault but GGG. Canelo fought Floyd at 152 and Cotto at 155. Canelo made concessions to increase his fame and that's just how boxing works - always has.
The WBC also put a 15-day timeline on the Canelo-GGG negotiations. Why would Canelo let any organization dictate what he has to do? Canelo is the face of boxing. No boxer, promoter, or sanctioning body tells him what to do. And I'm not riding Canelo...it's just reality. There is no fighter in the world more popular than Canelo. The next most popular fighter is probably Anthony Joshua and he's a distant 2nd.
Canelo became the face of boxing by winning and taking on, for the most part, best available competition. He essentially unified at JMW which was a strong, crowded division a few years ago...much like it's become again today. Sure there were a few close decisions (i.e., Lara), but as Breadman says - if you fight enough late 20's or early 30's boxers in their prime - you're going to lose eventually. And Canelo's lone official loss is to the great Floyd Mayweather.
It just seems odd that people want to crucify Canelo over his "partial" unwillingness to fight GGG in 2015...he WAS willing to fight at 155 (and I think 157), but GGG was not interested. And these same fans defend GGG who challenged Froch and JCC Jr., but demanded Ward fight at a catchweight...after saying "no catchweights" to Canelo???

How are Canelo fans even arguing that Canelo stalled the ggg fight for years. Oscar admitted himself he didn't want Canelo in the ring with a younger GGG because he was in his prime and thought Canelo was still to young.
Literally doing the same thing Floyd is with the Davis/Loma situation.Comment

Canelo then got permission to fight Khan after signing a document to the WBC and Golovkin in which he promised to fight Golovkin right after Khan.
He didn't, and vacated the title.Comment

Canelo is and Cotto was the two biggest divas in boxing. Canelo is a catchweight fighter proven over and over. Cotto had the nerve to say he would not defend his Middleweight title unless it was at a catchweight. Do you believe Mexican fighters, real Mexican fighters like Chavez and Sanchez would behave like Canelo does. Or Felix Trinidad would act like Cotto.. No way.Comment
