How much DAMAGE to boxing if Wilder actually KILLS Breazeale??

Let's say Wilder floors the dude like he did the Polish fella, Breazeale is taken to the hospital, put in a coma, and gets taken off life support 3 days later. What happens to boxing after a guy SAYS he wants to kill a guy and then actually does it? You can fully expect an argument would be made that we're actually paying men to kill other men on TV, for sport.

Does boxing yet pulled off network TV?
    Do major advertisers flee?
    Does congress get involved?
Or, does it just look real bad but society moves on, like when a celeb gets away with killing their spouse (Simpson, Blake, etc)?

Realistically, the media will cry in outrage for a day while non-boxing fans post smartass comments on Twitter about how Breazeale was asking for it since boxing is all about punching people in the head. Then a Kardashian gives birth or Trump says literally anything and the media will move on to its next story.

Its for sure a PR nightmare for boxing as a whole. Not just Deontay. Not just HW boxing. Not just PBC. Its a disaster for boxing as a whole.

EVERYONE would have to come out & denounce Wilder's words & try to spin it by saying "well he was just in fight mode & obviously his intent wasn't really to hurt Breazeale" & sh^t like that.

People would be all over SM saying boxing should be banned. How caveman-ish it is this is still a thing.

How long that goes on & if bigger dogs start getting into it is all a huge guess & likely depends on what else is or isn't going on in the news. If Wilder kills Breazeale on Saturday & lets say Trump gets indicted on some sh^t on Monday or George Clooney announces he has Aids, stage 4 cancer & a boo boo on his left ankle on Sunday or a similar big story hits then I think it blows over easier & without as much bad blowback for boxing.

I don't know about Wilder will do personally but some reforms will be made and licenses will get suspended in the future for those types of comments

There's so much money involved in boxing, I wouldn't be surprised if the outcry for boxing's neck was dismissed after a couple of weeks.

He'd be force to apologize, suspended for sometime and pay a hefty fine. A year or two later, he's back punching people in the heavyweight division.

Nothing, deaths in the ring happen.

I doubt it happens anyway. Breaze is probably big, strong, powerful enough to withstand a TKO loss by Wilder. He is a 6'7", 250+ lb professional boxer with 20 wins and 18 KO's, with 1 loss to the best ranked HW, Anthony Joshua. He will make it. This is no longer the HW division that Wlad ruled, being the bigger, taller man in every fight. We now have top 3 HW's who are pretty similar in size/height/reach. Joshua, Wilder, Fury. While Breaze is not in the top 10, I think he can take a beating and stand back up, he's a big guy. This isn't Khan going up to fight Canelo, or Brook going to fight GGG, or Mikey going up to fight Spence. Breaze is a full-fledged, big HW. Wilder is probably going to KO him, but he's not going to kill him lol.

              No they won't.

Non boxing fans will call for the sport to be banned worldwide.

It would definitely make for an interesting news story. It would make headlines for sure. I'm pretty sure Wilder would lose fans without a doubt. And all the things you mentioned are definite possibilities. I think Wilder's an idiot for saying these things and pushing them so far. Trash talk can sell a fight but he's trying too hard, really. Looks desperate to me.

This is boxing and everyone who steps in that ring knows the danger.

That said, I never want that to happen but it's a reality of the sport.

The issue is Wilder was on ESPN etc talking about it, so if something does happen it'll hurt boxing.

                  That's the American HW Champion.

Randomly another underrated angle to this is how much do Law Of Attraction books get bought in the aftermath of Breazeale's death if Wilder spoke it into existence?

Or how much does Law Of Attraction take a hit if Wilder fails to kill Breazeale on Saturday?
