If a fighter is holding a belt hostage not defending it a long time or fighting stay busy bum after stay busy bum worse then the mandatory ok I understand taking a hard stance and ordering the mandatory. But the IBF belt just mandated Jacobs vs Dervy back in like Novemeber. Why another mandatory owed so soon to the same damn fighter who lost to Jacobs? Canelo looking for much better opponents then Dervy and trying to unify all the belts which would be epic for the sport of boxing. But no dumb azzz IBF trying to force either a pointless fight that delays/prevents full unification of the belts or forces Canelo throw your belt in the trash ending 1 champ unifying all the belts.

This is prime example why all these belt orgs are so shady and corrupt. IBF ain't acting in the best interest of the sport and were likely paid off by Dervy's own promoter Lou Dibella for this garbage.

Honestly no one wants to see canelo destroy this guy. It doesn’t move the needle. And SD lost that fight vs Culcay. But if he has to honor this to keep his belt, he should do it.

The fact that Dervy barely won his last fight it was a SD with many saying the other guy won makes this decision from IBF even more bizare. You would have a better argument with the IBF demanding a rematch Dervy/Culcay title eliminator then justifying Dervy getting another mandatory shot order in a ridiculous short amount of time.

Agreed. That was a razor close fight. And he just got a title fight. But idk. IBF has its own way of doing things

Tevin Farmer also signed with Lou and look at all the bs going on with the IBF belt he holds and the trash opponents he was allowed to fight. It's sad but that's how it goes. WBO are in Top Rank and Warren's pockets. IBF in Lou Dibella pockets, WBC in Haymons pockets. WBA are just a phukoing mess with a million belts in the same damn weight class with the Super, Regular and Interim belts but they take turns in who pays them off.

Good fight, Jacobs vs Derevyachenko was A CLOSE fight. Jacobs slept half of the match with Clenelo, Derevyachenko will do much better then Jacobs against Clenbuterol Boy.
