I honestly am starting to feel ever since DAZN has started to push the "PPV is Dead" & "No more PPV" agenda. Showtime Fox & ESPN are deliberately trying to force PPV's on the public.

& I think it's pretty ******. We've had Fury Wilder, Pac Broner, Garcia Spence, Bud Khan, & now possibly Danny Mikey. None of these fights were ppv worthy. All 4 of these together barely cracked 1.5 million buys. That's pathetic tbh. & It makes one wonder how they're even making any money with these numbers.

I don't buy ppvs so it doesn't affect me but it affects casuals and moderate fans who don't wanna pay for these weak ppvs, which in turn, turns people off all together & hurts the sport. I don't think ppv needs to die all together I think it needs to be a rarity & 100% justifiable otherwise keep it on free or premium tv

Looks like Al knows where the Spence-Garcia PPV buys came from. Spence is unifying with the man that beat Danny Garcia on FOX while Mikey is headed for another PPV coming off a loss.


Spence can stop talking trash about 60/40 or whatever else he conjured up.

Mexican-American vs. Puerto Rican American

I get it but Mexican American and life long resident of California vs a Puerto Rican and life long resident of Philadelphia doesn't move the needle in either country. It just doesn't generate the same passion as Mexican vs. Puerto Rican. I am reminded of the great fights of the past: Chavez vs. Rosario, Chavez vs Camacho, Salvador Sanchez vs Wilfredo Gomez, Cotto vs Margarito, Gomez vs. Zarate and many others. As an example of the difference, one of the best Mexican American fighters of all time, Oscar de La Hoya, was pretty much despised by Mexican fans but adored by Mexican American fans.

Mikey is the one who brought in the sales vs Spence hence his next fight being PPV as well.

Garcia is a disgrace to the sport and doesnt deserve another big fight. I hope Danny breaks his jaw and retires this midget money grabber

It's amazing! All this talk about "Don't be a weight bully," "Fight someone your own size," "1 loss doesn't kill your career," and look at all this hate Mikey is getting! Fake azz boxing fans are incredible! The man wants to be a WW Champion! What's wrong with that? He's won @ 126, 130, 135, and 140! He loses one fight @ 147, and now y'all turn on him? RIDICULOUS!

You see this a lot with certain posters when the fighter is a Haymon affiliated boxer. If Mikey was on TR or DAZN and was trying to win at WW those posters would label this as "chasing greatness."

If you look at 135 and 140, Mikey probably would've been better off staying with TR because he'd have a lot of quality opponents to fight and the Loma fight would be easier to make but I can understand why he wanted to get the f-ck away from Top Rank.

But on PPV? YIKES no belt on the line, neither are even a top 5 ranked welterweight right now, basically the loser bracket of the Spence/Porter fight which is NOT on PPV. So I don't know how you sell this, the guys who just beat BOTH Garcia's are for free but the losers you got to pay? And putting Mikey in another PPV this fast after the gutless performance where he quit pulled a Chavez Jr against Canelo and after a couple rounds didn't even try to win just went into survival mode stinking up the joint. I think that's a bad look and will drive anyone who paid for Spence/Mikey to say I'm not getting tricked out my money again with Mikey who might not show up for this fight either.

This good fight for both but stick it on FOX or Showtime it shouldn't be PPV
