I wouldn't rule anything out. Maybe Ortiz didn't think he'd pass a ped test, maybe his team got greedy and dropped the ball, or maybe Hearn was playing games and put ortiz's name out there to make it seem like he was making a real effort but in reality didn't want the danger that fight would bring on short notice. I mean, it's not like Hearn has been especially eager to put Joshua in dangerous fights.

Not a knock on Hearn, he’s gotten to the top for a reason, but to defend his integrity is laughable.
Firstly I don't believe anyone got mad if you said Hearn is a liar etc, he's a promoter, we all know this (ditto Arum etc). And I don't believe anyone on this site spends any time defending his integrity either.

So lets just stick to what happened here - if you remember, when Ruiz was announced, there were articles confidently saying 'ts Ruiz' for a few days before Ruiz was formally announced. That's because it followed the normal process of Ruiz agreeing verbally to an offer (at which point the informal 'its Ruiz articles began), then a few days sending the contract over and getting it signed by all parties before the formal announcements were made by Hearn's side and Ruiz's side. That's how all contracts get made: negotiation - verbal agreement - then the paperwork.

The Ortiz camp position of 'send the paperwwork' before any verbal agreement is made is backwards, both process wise and intellectually. If they reached a verbal agreement and then said - 'deal, send the paperwork', then that's one thing, but they are not saying that, just insinuating that because no contract was sent, no offer was made.

If it looks like a cow turd and smells like a cow turd, its BS.

What has the world of boxing come to, when fans start defending Promoters.

Historically Promoters of boxing have been the most corrupt and dishonest of all the sports combined. Yet, you have loons on this forum breaking their wrists to defend Hearn. and a fool.

Ortiz's own team said it was them that ****ed up. You want to run with what his trainer says though?

          You're the fool.

So are we supposed to believe what Ortiz's trainer is saying now or what he was saying a couple of weeks ago.

Ortiz's team have proven themselves to be liars, this is just another example.

For anyone to dispute what's being said in the article, tell us where the contract got sent. Tell us what Hearns response was to Jimenez after he went on record saying that they would accept the offer.

Team Ortiz must own some of the blame because of the promoter and not doing more in the media, but there still is the issue of the offer but no contract.

It doesn’t matter that Ortiz’s and Whyte are saying it now but if I had to guess it’s because Hearn is publicly saying these guys rejected and it’s a bad look for them . If Hearn is telling the truth he will produce a contract and make that public then the rest of the boxing and myself will know the truth .

Heavens to murgatroid - his database is corrupt and malfunctions when "10 wks" and "southpaw" is downloaded....

They exist because "fans" like the ones I quoted above exist. They are disgusting people.

Lol Damage control. No intelligent persons would believe this damage control, who sends a control when offers for a fight was turned down? Whose got time to be playing games with 5/6 weeks to go for a major fight? There is NO way they can turn this around. Even the low IQ posters are that dumb.

Pulev is the last person who should be calling anybody else a coward.

This is the guy who posted on FB complaining about his own promoter and saying he "wasn't ready" to fight AJ after being named as the IBF mando, then deleted the post and pulled out of the fight with an "injury"

What they are saying is that, even though they admitted turning down Hearn's offer, he should still have sent them a contract.
