Hurd fighting @ home hurt him!

Fighters asking to fight @ home need to beware of hometown distractions.

Right before the fight they showed Hurd at home with his family and girlfriend and I became skeptical.

Reading the “Haircuts” in the locker room confirms that he probably didn’t train as hard as he should have.

Depending on the timeframe of the rematch clause I think Hurd should refrain from sparring for 6 months and let J-Rock face the Harrison/Charlo winner.

I was thinking the same thing and I take Breadman for his word and it was probably just what Williams needed to hear.

Breadman: “Man J-Rock I just seen Hurd getting an edge up and a swift lighting bolt part in his dressing room so if he wins he’s CLOWNING HARD AF on Twitter & Instagram.”

Not good for the former undefeated unified champ!
It's funny because at certain points in the fight Hurd rallied and did show flashes of boxing skills and head movement but he'd do it for like 10 sec at a time and too few and far in between..then revert right back to his sloppy style

He either doesn't have the energy, focus or both to be able to sustain it but that seems to be what he needs to work on the most.

36 pounds in one week!?! I had not hear that. I've never had to cut weight for a sport but it seems dangerous to cut that kind of weight that fast and then get into a war the next evening.

I haven't seen some big improvement in J Rock, Charlo would KO him again IMO.

He just had a good gameplan for Hurd while Hurd didn't really have a gameplan an has limited skills to begin with, just the same ole MO. Plus Hurd is pretty much draining himself to make 154 at this point. IDC how gradual he does it. By the time you reach your late 20's it's about time to move up to your natural weight class...

I'm surprised Broner who's turning 30 really thinks he can move back down to 140 and be a force atp, that ship has been sailed..
very true but we seem to instantly forget that before that vicious ko j rock was somewhat dominating the fight. that ko came literally out of no where

I don't think he can change it too much but can tweak certain things.

He definitely can. That said, I see him getting KTFO in the next couple of years. There's only so many flush power shots to the head that one man can take.

That was FOTY right there. That fight was amazing to watch. J-Rock was razor sharp and came with serious purpose. I thought Hurd might permanently shift the momentum in the later rounds, but Williams wanted the win more. His commitment to the body definitely paid off as Hurd wasn't able to summon a big second wind. That was the best time I've had watching boxing in while. I still like Hurd and think he is must-watch, but J-Rock got himself a fan right here. Salute to both warriors

You don't remember correctly. Lara had a big lump on the side of the head and that was caused by a clash of heads. His eyes were both fine.
