Glad to see someone able to read the tea-leaves on how this fight would play out.

Canelo is next-level defensively, and a counter-puncher with few equals in modern day boxing, but he doesn't have move-forward hunter-killer skills, so he's vulnerable to styles that have the ability to keep out of harms way.

That's not to say Saunders would beat him, just that Saunders would go 12 rounds pawing out a soft jab that might make incidental contact 10% of the time, but unlikely to commit to any attack as he would be countered more strongly than anything he could unleash offensively.

Basically Canelo following him around the ring for 12 then Saunders claiming a win on the basis that one or two jabs got close to landing in each round.

I agree. If Saunders comes to fight then he gets KO. However if he just comes to survive, then he would last the distance and go the full twelve rounds. It takes two to tangle and if all BJS does is move, hold and not throw any punches then I am afraid it would be very difficult for the counterpunching Canelo to stop him.

Casuals don’t understand that just because t-Rex armed Lemieux had problems with range against BJS has no relation to “moving” when fighting Canelo. BJS never tasted power like Canelo. GGG and Jacobs learned what it was like to feel Canelo’s power. When fighters actually get in there it’s a different story. Canelo has power in every shot department.

Hes saying the truth though,vs Canelo the supposed killers who supposedly have way more power both left their hands at home & were heavily outlanded in power shots & body work just like Lara whos similar style to bjs. Canelo has yet to be outlanded in power shots by anyone except mayweather & he landed virtually every type of punch in combos & cleanly vs ggg/Jacobs,& his % landed was 45% vs Jacobs whos much better than bjs.

Easy work for Canelo. BJs never faced an elite counter puncher. The last elite counter puncher he faced whom was over the hill and gone through too many wars was Andy Lee. If BJS had faced a prime Andy Lee, BJs would’ve tasted a delicious Andy right hook and been stopped. Lemieux is C+ level. BJs isn’t Lara nor in the 23 year old Canelo age. BJs couldn’t stop Monroe Jr. and lost 4 rounds to him.

Saunders is better now than he was then too, that was when he was still younger and hadn't fought at world level. He dropped Lee twice. BJS has a granite chin too, never even been wobbled in a fight.

His style is all wrong for Canelo. Canelo would need his army of judges to get a decision in that one

There's no question that Canelo would win the fight but he won't win it by knockout.

Eric Gomez openly said they don't want that fight for Canelo because stylistically it doesn't make a great fight.

In other words, they don't want someone that won't stand infront of Canelo like a punching bag, because the last fighters with real movement (Lara and Floyd) beat Canelo.

They're not ******. Why would they fight Saunders? - he currently has no belt, brings no money to the table and his style is awful for Canelo. It's a very high risk:low reward fight for canelo, especially with a $350m DAZN contract behind him.
