if manny loses to spence? it does nothing for him at this point, legacy wise, but if he wins that's a different story., and if he loses it might move him down the ranking system but legacy it will not hurt him at all, it might even help him! ranking is not solely based on who you beat, it's more so on what you have accomplished while you're still at it! if its based on who you beat then douglas would be ranked higher than tyson!!

this is why we always get the debate about is kobe or lebron better than jordan!! because their stats are starting to surpass jordan!!! it doesnt mean that they were better than jordan! but based on their stats, it will move them above jordan!

same with manny! if he continue to keep on fighting the top young guys and beat them at it, while floyd's accomplishments ended when he retired from boxing in 2015. you catch my drift?

So only the wins affect manny’s legacy. If he loses to someone he should easily beat and was favored to beat like horn but lost that is washed away with a win over Thurman.

How is it possible to not count wins and losses when evaluating a career? It’s like manny fans only count the positives and want everyone to forget everything else.

            That isn’t possible.

at this point in his career! yes!!! losing to spence will not hurt his legacy at all! why would it? yall crowning spence as the best right now! so why would losing to the best fighter at the moment put a dent on his legacy, at 40!? now if manny continue to keep on fighting and losing to b-c level guys, then yes, this will hurt his legacy. is spence a b-c level guy??!!

Thurman isn’t even as good as Mosley or cotto when manny beat them. This win doesn’t make him even greater than before lol

now if spence and crawford fight each other right now, who ever loses will suffer a career type ending. because these are the top 2 guys right now. this is why yall said arum kept pac away from floyd for all those years until arum was ready to cash out!! did oscar legacy took a tent when he loss to pac ? no!! so if manny loses to spence, it will not hurt his legacy either, not at this point on his way out! just like with oscar! you catch my drift? saturday, school's in session!!

timing brah!!! timing!!!! yes, ranking wise, cotto and mosley are steps above thurman overall. but we're talking right now. manny is 40 fighting against thurman. this is what's gonna boost him up because he shouldnt even be fighting these type of guys at this point!

losing to top fighters at this point will not hurt manny's legacy. losing to a lesser comp will. and i think manny knows this, that's why he's picking wisely. he knows that losing to a name fighter will not hurt his legacy as much as losing to a lower comp at this point. manny could have simply defended his belt against a lesser comp, manny didnt have to pick thurman.
