Did anybody else challenging for Wilders belt get told they had to fight someone rated as highly as Ortiz or Fury first.

The WBC is giving Whyte the runaround, it’s basically a fact at this point.

Whyte would probably be the most deserving challenger Wilder ever had tbh.

I'm not a fan of "in the way fighters" So if he gets screwed over and forced into a fight he probably loses, i'm all for it. As long as it isn't on some Don King ish, oh well.

He's basically the Jaime Munguai at HW just someone that needs to be knocked out so we can see the real champs fight.

Yes, Breazeale did.

Breazeale was asked to fight Bermane Stiverne for the mandatory position. When the later withdrew last minute to fight Wilder instead (since Luis Ortiz tested positive), Breazeale had to fight Molina instead. At that time Stiverne was the original mandatory, ranked very high, and a former world champion.

This is exactly the situation like WBC asked Whyte to fight Breazeale while Wilder was to fight Fury. Since Fury backed away, Breazeale went for Wilder and Whyte now has to fight Fury or Ortiz.
