Comments Thread For: McGuigan Explains Why Campbell Can Beat Lomachenko

Promoter and former world champion Barry McGuigan feels confident that Luke Campbell is fully capable of beating Vasyl Lomachenko for the vacant WBC lightweight crown. A few days ago, the World Boxing Council ordered Lomachenko and Campbell to fight for the belt that was recently vacated by Mikey Garcia, who back in March moved up by two weight classes to fight welterweight champion Errol Spence.

It's simple: because he's playing a video game of the fight.

McGuigan doing the usual, biased, support for a British no-hoper fighter."Hi-Tech" would clean him up inside 6 rounds and Campbell even quicker.

Campbell is a very sound fighter and he'd have a 6 inch reach adv over Loma but he's just too stiff to worry him, imo. It would be like Canelo vs Callum Smith - all the physical advantages are with Smith but fluid fighters tend to have the beating of more mechanical ones. Not a bad fight by any means.

Campbell's a good fighter. Loma's world class. Case closed.

Campbell is there or there about's in world class a very good fighter who looked sharp and much improved last time out. Lomo is something completely different as I have seen in the flesh at MSG last Dec. .He is exceptional and will stop Campbell after a hopefully valiant effort from our lad. Lomo finds all the little holes and exploits them !

Campbell is a good fighter and pointed out an Olympic gold medalist himself, but even if the call was against Haney I wouldn’t have picked him to win, talkless of taking on Loma.
