Before my time but just watched highlights of him and he was in some great brutal fights, very entertaining and brave fighter. R.I.P.

Cooper was an exciting and sometimes dangerous gatekeeper. If you could get past him, chances are you were going places.

For anyone who's never seen Cooper as a late notice sub almost upset Holyfield its worth a watch. Here's the highlight video.

No fighter in the history of the sport took more flush uppercuts than Smokin' Bert Cooper. Not sure which fight was more fun to watch though, the Evander fight or the Moorer throw-down.

RIP Champ. Cooper was a warrior and his fights against Holyfield and Moorer were Heavyweight classics. He'd put up a war against ANYONE.

Remember watching those Moorer and Holyfield fights, Bert brought the pain. Always had respect for bringing it no matter the odds. Rest in peace Champ.

He was about one flurry away from winning the heavyweight title. He had Holyfield in serious trouble at one point. True warrior who fought 'em all. RIP champ.

                      Damn

Trying to emulate that Frazier style of ''defense'' ruined him as well as his bouts with the drugs.

                      RIP
