Comments Thread For: Lubin To Return in June, Coach Says He Will Be Champion Soon

Erickson "The Hammer" Lubin (20-1) started off his 2019 campaign with a **** and hopes to continue his momentum when he returns to the ring in June. In February he became the first man to stop former champion and Ishe Smith at the Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, Calif. He sent Smith to canvas three times in the first round and once more in the third which prompted Smith's coach to stop the fight after the third round ended. Smith would announce his retirement shortly thereafter.

So on the Harrison/Charlo card? Solid.

Should be competing for a title in early 2020.

He should fight #2 Sergio Garcia, or #5 Austin Trout! Lara would be best, but I know Lara is not fighting on anyone's undercard!

Trout is fighting in 2 weeks.
Gallimore or DeLouch would be fine.

I was just about to suggest Trout. He has faced a who's who in the division and would be a good test to see where Lubin is at.

Garcia is a nice shout actually.

Trout is fighting Guasha in May so he's not going to be the opponent.

Patrick Teixiera would be a nice opponent.

DeLoach has been catching an L after L lately so he's not going to be it. And I believe he's trying to go down to WW as crazy as it sounds.

Gallimore would be fine as well I guess. At least he has pop and will test Lubin in that regard and he's durable.

After this June bout, Castaņo vs Lubin would be a good matchup.
